Aye well, you get what you pay for, with Rodgers we had a Rolls Royce, just a pity the board didn't pay for a quality service contract.

Barkas was 5 mil and Ajeti was around the same, why not just pay a good manager and his backroom team six mil a year?

SG is the big name that attracts players, but I reckon it's Gary McAllister that's the real reason Rangers are doing so well tactically, and you never really hear from they guy, keeps hos head down and just gets on with it.

We replaced Duff and Mjallby with two woodentops and Rodgers with.. well..

I'm a bit jealous of the setup at Rangers as they seem to be doing everything right at the moment, but I'll say it again, there's no chance of them repeating the heights of last season.

Celtic right now are just as bad as I can remember, but the blame rests entirely with our disfunctional 'board' and recruitment process, farcical. Somecvnt has micromanged us into this situation.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Michael Beale does the tactics.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Stevie G; head honcho, legend of the game, figurehead of the club, ultimately calls the shots.

Gary Mac; trusted number 2, link man to manager and players, all round good bloke.

Beale; Master tactician, deep thinker on the game respected across Europe

Tom Culshaw; Top drawer technical coach

Tbf we are lucky to have such a good team on the sidelines. I fear that when Stevie G goes they all go.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah.

Although Michael Beale does want to manage in his own right in future.

Still so impressed at how we function as a club, top to bottom from where we were.

People are drawing parallels between Big Ange and Pedro. My suspicion that he is more like Warburton.

Warburtons biggest failure was that Plan B was to 'do Plan A better'.

That was one of the big differences in Rangers last season - SG and his team had a Plan A, B and C. We needed to mix it up in pretty much every game - sometimes back to front quickly, sometimes Morelos dropping deep to drag CBs out of position and sometimes playing our way through in nice wee triangles.

We had clear patterns of play and we knew when and how to switch between them.

I dont know much about Ange but he seems to have one main defined style of play. And one he is happy to tell folk about - so there no real element of surprise.

He will need to learn to adapt quickly because I am not sure how many times he would have played against a 1-5-5 formation.

Agree with this. The only similarity to Pedro is they are both foreign. Seeing how Ange speaks about the game and how he seems to want to play it reminds me of Warburton. Will be interesting to see if he's as fixed on the same way of playing and as stubborn.

I think Ange is shocked at the mess that he has inherited both on and off the field. The Scottish press are what is to be expected.

The Press?
What have they done
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Media using language such as catastrophe. Ange subsequently explaining the inappropriateness of this.

Celtic fans should be concerned that the club will go bust if there's just one more lockdown, which indeed looks 99.9% certain to happen in September.

We’re a bit more flexible about that kind of thing up here. It’s like killing off one of Marvel or DC’s main characters with us.

Good to see Hibs and Aberdeen getting through, need clubs like this to start pulling their weight in Europe

They’ve relied on the old firm long enough to save the face of our game in Europe
