Shouldn’t be allowed. End of.
Men who transition to women shouldn’t be able to complete in female sports. Most of the time these “athletes” fail to be competitive in male sports but become unbeatable in the female ranks.
It’s unfair to the actual women who train and dedicate their time to simply be overwhelmed by a stronger biological human.

I don’t even watch women’s sport to be honest, it’s a joke. Women aren’t built for sport, they are either too feeble or they have jugs that get in the way. Sport is a modern extension of the competitive athleticism needed to be a hunter gatherer. That is/was a man’s domain. Women rear children and maintain the cave/home. The only women who are truly good at sport are the ones who look like and are built like blokes, like the Williams sisters. If anyone on here can honestly say they have an interest in women’s sport they are either a liar or a pansy.
As for transgender or whatever the fack we’re supposed to call them now, give them their own category and let them compete against each other and think themselves lucky, end of.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why should they need to feel lucky?
There is no ideal solution that will have parties happy.
There are similar debates to be had about Athletes returning from drugs bans. For example HGH is similar to undergoing a second puberty, resulting in residual benefits that can continue long after a drugs ban. No ideal solution to that issue either. I suppose pragmatism and non black and white thinking is becoming less and less prevalent in today's age.
As an aside, my wife and I having had the pleasure of a drink and a chat with Calpernia Addams a few year back find it, transphobia, difficult to understand. Some trans people just want to live their life. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calpernia_Addams

to your point tho admin, I have zero issue with men who genuinely feel like they're women, and take those steps.
the question is should biological men be allowed to compete with biological women in sports that test physical strength speed and endurance?

I don't think transphobia is prevalent per se, it's more about women objecting to men stealing their livelihoods.

Yeah I'm of the same view. Homophobia, transphobia or any other discriminatory tendencies are all ridiculous and completely unwarranted.
But when it comes to sport and you see dominance and records broken by trans athletes, there does need to be a discussion about that. As Admin says, maybe there also needs to be a discussion about drugs cheats.

Again drugs cheats in the case of athletics or cycling can be accused of similar.
I agree the issue is separate debate to transphobia. Andy Murray could likely win Wimbledon were he to self identify as female. That doesn't seem right, but given the prize money you could see something similar happening in forthcoming years. But I don't know what the ideal balance is.

Such a complex topic, with women's rights, feminism, trans rights at times competing against one another, and now sport the new battle ground for politics and identity?
Trying to view this from a women's sport perspective, I am sure it is tough after a lifetime training to see a person born biologically male, suddenly entering your sporting field and winning, in part due to physical advantage.
Then there are some feminists and others who do not think a person born male can become female, or be in the wrong body?
I wonder how many women are transitioning to men and then competing in male teams or events, to take another angle on this?
The publicity around trans does seem to focus on male to female and not as much vice versa.
Personally, I believe people can be born into the wrong body, and they deserve our support and tolerance.
And other people may be using this as a means to an end, in sport or to gain access to women, while other people have genuine mental health problems regarding how they view themselves and their bodies.
Perhaps some hardline feminists, trans activists and bigots need to step back a little and cease judging, fighting and taking sides.
I know little about trans in sports so excuse my ignorance but until an independent category is introduced why can’t trans athletes compete in the sports in which their birth gender is identified and eliminate the need to hormone suppress or adjust testosterone levels?
I can understand the issue of no longer wanting to identifying as a gender but if categories were based on gender assigned at birth would that eliminate any unfair advantage?
I don't profess to know a lot about this subject but from what I can see the vast majority of women's sports are still dominated by humans who were born female.
Which makes me wonder whether this is such a big issue at all. To the best of my knowledge, for example, humans born female still hold the world records in road and track running.
The amount of men wanting to transition is a really small percentage. What will be an even smaller percentage is the amount of them that will then have a world class sporting prowess.
I find it highly unlikely a male athlete will think "I'll be world champ if I was a woman" and then transition.
