Have you considered walking, cycling or public transport as an alternative to a lot of your car journeys? If you are looking at electric cars then I am guessing that it is mainly shorter trips that you are making. These trips can be replaced by healthier alternatives that will make you feel great and help save the planet!
well, electricity prices are also rising and the government will probably be pushing forward their plan to tax electic cars to cover the loss of tax on petrol? So for how long would it remain cheaper?

Not really since an ID3 has almost 300 miles on a full charge, that’s like any average petrol car. And I do lots of early 5am start shifts where buses don’t frankly operate for me at that time. Plus if they did, I would have to wake up at 3am at least to get there in time.

My cousin is currently charging his electric VW Golf at £7 a charge and it lasts him about 4-5 days. I’d happily pay that right now compared to the shiiit fuel prices we are seeing.
I’ve recently transitioned from no car to no car. I must say, the no car I’ve not got at the moment is the best no car I’ve ever not had.
Electric cars make driving really cheap for rich people that can afford the cars. Poor people can only afford really expensive to run petrol/diesel cars. Can we control+alt+delete and start again?

I've got an old, 2010, diesel Merci. As I can and do walk everywhere in town, I only us it about ten times a year, for long trips, and it's far cheaper than the train

Same. Only for going where the train doesn't go or it's too expensive. Trains are waaaay too expensive here and it deters people who could easily use them. If you live in the city you really don't need a car though, other than for long distance trips. A lot of people see it as a status symbol though and don't look for alternatives. Gen Z don't seem to be so obsessed with driving though so there is potential for a decent modal shift in the future.

more people should work on getting their walking licences in my opinion.
Too many people not learning to walk.
Mrs Pepper is currently awaiting delivery of her new MG all electric does 270 miles to a charge
I come from a town where having a car is pretty vital if you want any sort of mobility whatsoever. There is a bus but it takes about 10x longer to get anywhere.
Definitely thinking of going electric next though, I quite like the Mustang tbh.
we had a bmw ix in yesterday.... self repairing grilles, colour changing paint through an app.. probably a bit steep for you though
My 18yo car is still doing the 3k-4k miles per year I'm driving. If the shops were closer and the buses were more frequent then I'd probably ditch it. The truth is though in a semi-rural area a car is very handy.
What the hell is a self-repairing grill
You cant be against global warming and own a car nowadays, we all know the damage it does.

You're contributing to global warming doing about 99% of the things that you do including using JA606.

exactly what says.. if you hit it with a stone.. it repairs itself... feck knows how but i saw someone stick a screwdriver in it and a little while later it wasnt there
I do about 4000 miles a year total... So I could go electric but have no real inclination to do so... Got an 8-year old Kia that does me perfect, gets me to golf and bowling, gets me to work (whilst I'm still working this year) & gets me to the shops... All within a 4/5 mile radius

thats what the roof is like.. its seethrough and slightly tinted, you press the button and crustals in the glass transform it to solid
If you only spend £80 a month on fuel I'm assuming you don't really drive often or that far anyway? £262 (plus maintenance/tax/insurance etc) a month seems a lot already for that.
Bangernomics.
Please remeber electric is also about to cost 3x what it currently does in give or take a month
