Don is being the ultimate 'what if' man here but we cannot really prove it's him though from the video alone.
However, everything around it suggests it is him not least the lack of denial. If that really wasn't him then we'd know by now. His lawyers would have been all over it. They could do it via time stamps on the phone and his whereabouts probably.

The voice alone is clearly identifiable with Greenwood as is Harriet's.
She was the one who made the recording
The reason the case has gone quiet is probably because Greenwood has made a financial settlement and has retracted / changed her statement as a result. We just don't know.
Or maybe the evidence is not damning enough to press charges. If that is the case you can see why rape allegations have a poor success rate, the burden of proof is on the prosecution to prove beyond reasonable doubt.
The recording alone, to a reasonable man, proves Greenwood was performing an act on Harriet, and she was protesting in a distressed way as a result. Prosecution would need to prove it was in contravention of the Sexual Offences Act. No doubt the defence cited "foreplay", it was "play acting".

What do you think one of the very first things the police did? I'd imagine that they satisfied themselves that it was indeed Greenwood in the recording. In order to do that they will obviously questioned Harriet. Then they will have looked at time date/time stamps of the recordings and Greenwood's mobile phone movements. Then there will possibly be CCTV footage corroborate his movements and I'd imagine a security tracker in his vehicle. They will also obviously ask Greenwood himself if it is him in the recording. I doubt they will have had much trouble establishing his movements and that he was indeed with Harriet at the time of the recording. Then there is also the opinion on language experts.
The fact that the investigation is still ongoing would suggest to me that they are very much sure that it was him in the recording. As does the fact that he was further arrested.

I don't think that is the probability. It could be the case, but these kinds of cases take a long time. The Everton player has just been bailed again and it is a year since he was first arrested. This could easily drag on for another 12-18 months before it even makes it to court.

He's currently on bail, and it will be up to the police to determine if there's enough evidence to charge him,(with the chance of a conviction) and refer to the CPS.
He therefore could be charged with all four offences, or just one, depending on the police investigation. Or if new evidence comes to light the charges could be added to, or struck off.

Greenwood is far too raw for us to be turning the heat up like this. You have no idea what damage it can do.
If we continue it will likely cause excessive amounts of creosote to build up in the chimney at a dramatically faster rate. Creosote buildup is the leading cause of chimney fires which are extremely dangerous and burn down thousands of homes every year.

I don't think that is the probability. It could be the case, but these kinds of cases take a long time. The Everton player has just been bailed again and it is a year since he was first arrested. This could easily drag on for another 12-18 months before it even makes it to court.

Greenwood is far too raw for us to be turning the heat up like this. You have no idea what damage it can do.
If we continue it will likely cause excessive amounts of creosote to build up in the chimney at a dramatically faster rate. Creosote buildup is the leading cause of chimney fires which are extremely dangerous and burn down thousands of homes every year.

I also don't believe (given he was arrested on suspicion of rape and assault, as well as a 2nd accusation of threat to kill) he is in a position to settle anyway.
He's currently on bail, and it will be up to the police to determine if there's enough evidence to charge him,(with the chance of a conviction) and refer to the CPS.
He therefore could be charged with all four offences, or just one, depending on the police investigation. Or if new evidence comes to light the charges could be added to, or struck off.

Very plausible explanations Elvis & Stuart Pearce. Who knows what is happening behind the scenes between Greenwood's lawyers and Harriet's family.
If it drags on 12 - 18 months it's bad news for Utd as he's on the club's payroll, taking up valuable squad space in a critical period where the club is again forced to reset and find its way out of the football wilderness!
