sounds promising and if it does happen, Ayling's days as first choice rb could be numbered.

He’s massive for a RB, we’re his goals headers by any chance?

I'm the King of Klichbait. So, saw this earlier Shaun.
Is it genuine? Makes sense. And I found quotes where
Marsch thought the bloke was very good. And he's
another one who fits JM's system. Good if true. Even
better if true as we're getting signings done early.

Seems Ramsay from Aberdeen's opting for Liverpool.

Shaun, hopefully the German clubs that are looking at him don't share your confidence, I mean, RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund, a couple off big pulls there!..

But I hope his interest is with us!..

Batty, its being reported here that Leeds are in for him but so are the two German clubs!..

You have to like this quote from Matthias Jaissle:

“He is an absolute leader on the pitch. His emotions
push the whole team. As a right-back, he has a very
strong offensive drive, marches up and down the line
and is also a goal threat.”

Ticks a lot of boxes including only 24 and an absolute
monster size-wise. Add to that Danish players tend to
be technically very good. Hope we land him.

Quote from Adam Pope at radio Leeds:

"He's all about his attacking game - bombing up and down that flank, and sometimes cutting in."

When I read that the name Mel Sterland popped into my head.

Mel Sterland – hope so. Loved him.

Let's hope he's as good at free kicks as Mel was!

How close is this signing? I’ve read that Brentford are also wanting to sign this player.

Ayling might not even be for for the start of the season and its not like this isint the only time he has been on the sidelines for an extended period of time.

If this goes through id be happy as we clearly lack depth in regards tobour fullbacks

About as close as Nandez was to joining us for all of last summer.

Not sure this means Aylings days are numbered

Ayling is a superb player. Optimises the side. He's been run into the ground these last few years it's no wonder he's had injuries.

It's a squad game, more so with the 5 sub rule coming in.

I'd say it may mean the end of Dramah.

But with Ayling also been used at time as a centre half, I'd say we need both the new RB and Ayling

Ayling and Dallas are both out after surgery, so a RB is definitely needed. Fabrizio Romano reckons Leeds will have no issues reaching personal terms, just that Dortmund are keen also.

Injury prone 3/10.

He'll fit in well.

I think sentimentality clouds many people’s opinion of Luke Ayling. He’s a great lad, Leeds through and through and was part of the legendary Bielsa team that took us up - we’ll always love him for that. But he isn’t a Prem-quality player. He’s made a few, scored a few but that’s the very least we should expect of him. He’s prone to making expensive gaffes, too - at best he should be on the bench, at worst he should be taking on new challenges in the Championship. I know it sounds harsh but, hand on heart, can anyone say he’s the level of player this club needs?

We can say that about a lot of players at Leeds, and about a lot of players in the Premier League. I agree, he has been massive for us under Bielsa, but this is a new era for Leeds and if we want to compete a the highest level, how much does he have to offer?
On the other hand, we see what happens when you get rid of solid Bielsa players and replace them with expensive flops. I would hold onto him for now.

But is Kristensen? Is he Premiership quality either?

Cody Drameh? He hasn’t even come back yet to show what he can add to the squad.

What is the point of spending again now just because the player is available, instead of focusing on in the positions where we are really short of cover, such as left back?

borussia dortmund are interested in him too

Think there's some quite harsh assessments of Luke on here.

Players gaffes this season's have all been acutely amplified due to the collective generally being below par due to amongst other things, the spine being ripped out for the majority of the season.

My only concern is the plus 30 years element which applies to the likes Klich and Dallas also.

posted on 1/6/22

Luke has been one of our best player's sinse Bielsa came in, no reason why he can't return to his best, but than, maybe it'd help if the whole team returned to their best!..

He's not the only one making mistakes, but our mistakes have come down to the chopping and changing of the whole team the whole season!..

And out of position play!..

But like Rev and one or two others have said, some of our players are aging, they have to be replaced and I think even they know that!..

For what it's worth, I think Luke Ayling more than justifies a place in the squad for his leadership and personality. He's 30, yes, but he now has bags of experience. He screws up occasionally, yes, but the Rev is right in stating that the quality of individual performances dropped last season because of the disruptions caused by injuries, players being played out of position, etc.

But we should certainly invest in another RB, particularly if questions still remain about Drameh's future, particularly after Dallas's injury.

posted on 1/6/22

Drameh can play across the back line, so could see him fitting in with Kristensen. The idea is surely that by next summer we have Drameh and Kristensen as the long term RB options. I'm not sold on it being the priority position for strengthening, and there's a risk attached to this signing. He hardly lived up to early potential shown when at Ajax, and assessments from their fans aren't exactly glittering.
