I was thinking about this earlier.
I think his 14 titles at a single tennis major is probably the most unbreakable record in sports.
The only other ones that I could think of on the same type of degree of difficulty were Bradman’s 99.94 test batting average and Bill Russell’s 11 NBA titles.
112-3 match record at the French Open lol
If it weren’t for the roids you could have said Armstrong at the Tour de France.
Phelps in an Olympic pool?
Maybe Steph Curry at clutch 3-pointers, if you can include attributes in athlete’s games
It’s just a ridiculous record.

Phelps’ Gold Medal tally is good shout actually
He’s technically won more than 1/3 of the Grand Slams he’s ever played
It’s not a specialty within a sport but Floyd’s record is probably up there in top 5 individual sporting achievements?

LOL
Tiger Woods made 142 cuts in a row once. 7+ years and never missed a cut. Apparently it’s the best of all his achievements. I don’t know much about golf.

Can we please stop trying to compare Nadal/Woods/Bolt/O'Sullivan/Rooney and just appreciate them all as the best sports people of all time?

I don't see why we need to keep trying to compare them
There were a couple of pole vaulters (1 male, 1 female) who appeared to have no equals and just slowly progressed the pole vault world record over several years in order to secure the prize money you get for breaking a world record.
So dominant beating everyone else wasn't even the main concern

They're not all the best though, are they?
You're all equally good
Crazy how probably the 3 best tennis players ever have all played in the same era. 22 now for Nadal, 20 each for Federer and Djokovic and each had their speciality- Nadal the best on clay, Djokovic the best on hard court and Federer on grass. All of them were at least fairly versatile across all surfaces at their peak though.
Totally dominated the whole sport for such a long time now and none of the new generation even get close to them. Nadal could push around a zimmerframe around Roland Garros and still end up winning.
Imagine how many grand slams one of them could have won had the other two not been around
It’s a pity the history of cycling is tainted because they’re probably the closest in terms of individual athletes, dedicated to an almost psychopathic level.

No they were a few years ago now. Was a bit controversial at the time as it's likely we never saw their actual best as they only used to bother increasing the height by a CM each tournament. They may have peaked without having truly pushed themselves yet still won everything.
Can understand though with the money in athletjcs not being particularly high compared to many other sports
Colossal record.
