Bazoer doesn’t make sense, Souttar is a better defender (if he’s fit). If we’re after a cb should be a left footer.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
dunno about that Bazoer has done very well for Vitesse after being moved to CB.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Doekhi would’ve been the better signing from them.
Think Souttar is being under rated by our fans, he is a brilliant defender, and exactly the type I’d want next to Goldson. Wouldn’t be confident with Bazoer there, think Helander is a better defender too from what I’ve seen. Granted issue is both Helander and Souttar could spend most of year on treatment table, but has to be a left footed cb we get if Bassey goes.

why wouldnt you be confident about Bazoer? what amkes you thikn Doehki would be better?
not that it matters cos it turns out Doekhi preferred to play in germany
Not that I think Bazoer is a bad signing just don’t think he’s what we need. Seen him a few times randomly over years, has talent but doesn’t strike you as a solid centre back when you watch him play, not seen him recently but still
Doekhi seemed the better of the two in Holland as far as i read, that him being left footed and the Vitesse captain would say the better signing for us. Bazoer on a free is obviously a good move, sure he’ll have plenty interest because of that and could easily be brilliant. But I just don’t see him as an upgrade on Souttar, and would rather a left footer is all

but it was only last year he was moved to CB. I think he had been a holding midfielder most of his career?
And it was last year he prob had his best season as a pro (granted this is based on reports and not me watching him)
Yea it would’ve been as a midfielder and always looked tidy on the ball, but didn’t look a cb at all. And dont get why after a year or two at cb for Vitesse folk think he’d be better than Souttar who has been a beast anytime I’ve seen him playing, including against us.
I’d always just prefer a right footer and left footer at centre back if you can. Not saying he’s a bad signing but if we’re selling Bassey for big money would hope for better

Souttar has also looked decent at international level. Tbh though we are comparing him to Hanley
Confirmed that Gers have signed Malik Tillman from Bayern on loan with an option to buy.

Great news and it’s turning into a positive transfer window
Ajax allegedly prepared to offer £20m for Bassey. We absolutely have to accept at that value and hopefully we've already got at least a LB target in mind to replace him.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ajax dont do sell on clauses though so id make em wait a bit and see if someone matches but chucks a sell on into the deal
Apparently Brighton have also made an offer of 16m, so if there both offering, and other interest is true, you can imagine we’d try put them against each other to get the most
If he goes for 20m, I’ll be happy. Difficult to replace the Bassey of the last few months of season, but given he had such a massive quick rise he’s one you’d feel we could replace
Anything north of £15m would be excellent business
Would be disappointed with 15m, has to be over 20m given interest in him
I get that, but considering what we paid and how long we have had him for it would still be an excellent return on investment
19m it sounds like, not bad going for a player we got for 300k
Big thanks to Dave King who has fulfilled every promise he made since taking over. He laid the foundations for everything
Hearing he is now away for £22m
Everyone is reporting 22m euros plus 5m euro add ons plus 10% sell on
That’s an incredible deal if it comes off 👍

That’s what I’ve read too from several supposedly ITK people. Incredible bit of business. His performance in the EL final nailed it I’d imagine.
10% sell on could be very useful in a couple of years time if he keeps improving the way he has been.
Has to be one of the biggest Returns On Investments in Scottish football history given the paltry sum paid, the short time he was here and the minimal wage he would have been on as well
