King will get plenty of games, that was the whole purpose to not renewing Balogun.

Goldson, Souttar, Davies and King are your 4 centre back options for the season.

McCann could benefit from a loan if need be and Lowry is the natural replacement for Aribo hence not spending big money there. Don't see any reason for negativity on any of the 3 best prospects coming through this season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Souttar replaced Balogun no?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Souttar was already signed on a pre contract. At the point we signed him we had Goldson, Helander and Balogun as our 3 centre backs - remember Bassey was a converted left back.

Souttar is only going to be good for about 30 games a season and Davies might be similar, plenty games to go round including King.

Fantastic business by Rangers.

And with Ajax confirming the fee it is certainly not debatable (unlike the Patterson one 🤣).

If they can somehow get Barisic back to his best and keep him fit, it won't even impact the team that much.

Tremendous result last night against West Ham, friendly or not. The only time I want to see Rangers win is when they are playing English teams so even I was quite happy.

Game on!

If Rangers really think Lowry can progress into the player I believe he can be they should offer him out to the clubs in our league and even cover the wages.

Put in a clause that says they only pay his wages or part of them if he doesnt play games.

renewing Arfields contract, bringing in Lawrence , Hagi to come back and Tillman, moving kamara further forward all say to me Lowry wont get the game time he needs to develop his game properly
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Unless he goes to a team who have a lot of the ball and let him play as a number 10 every week it's a pointless exercise letting him go on loan.

Some might say that Ajax confirming the fee to be the same as those sources, shoes reliability of those sources in their reporting of the Patterson fee….

disagree thats like saying ..... We shouldnt have signed Lundsrum cos he wast playing in a team dominating the ball. Likewise for Lawrence, Aribo, Hagi. They all developed at teams in the roles similar to Lowry for teams that didnt dominate the ball.

I dont think Lowry's game is limited to just being a 10

posted on 20/7/22

I think Lowry would benefit far more playing 30 - 40 games a season for a hearts/hibs/aberdeen than he would from 4/5 starts and 6/7 sub appearances for us.

he is 19 and if he wants to progress properly he needs regular starts IMO.

If we hadn't signed Tilman i would be in favour of keeping Lowry this season but they both won't be able to get the amount of games they need to develop so if Lowry is to be used as a 10 he needs loaned out.

Probably changes again if we sell Kent/Sakala though.

Patterson's agent confirmed the fee. I've never seen a stronger source with any more information on it and not sure "naw it wisnae" which gets thrown at any fee we bring in or bid received counts as a valid argument against.

he'll be working with better trainers now. so heel really need to put the shift in or they'll boot him to the crocs.

I have a wee feeling Kamara might still be sold.

Hope not though.

Why wont they though? Lowry is injured just now so Tillman gets minutes. As the season goes on it's unlikely one will be capable of playing Wednesday/Saturday or Thursday/Sunday each week.

Surely if last season taught us anything it's that you need a good squad.

yeah there is certainly no reason he would want to inflate the valuation of one of his clients so that's that then.

As you suspected the compromise was too much on your third pun.

cos Arfield, hagi, Tillman, Lawrence, kamara thats why. He needs to go out on loan to get the games he needs cos as things stand all three are ahead of him in the pecking order for that no 10 role

Do you believe Pattersons agent lied about the transfer fee? And if so why did he do it?

Would see Kamara as a deeper cm firstly, Lawrence also plays on the wings, Tilman also plays up top and wouldn’t be surprised if he did with injuries and how bad Sakala is there, Hagi unlikely to play till Jan and Lowry should be ahead of Arfield there. Think there will be chances for him, there should be given how well he did.

Lowry could also play wide I’m sure. Granted he’s injured himself, and can’t see any of the teams you mentioned wanting to take him a player on loan from us to start anyway.

most would so would I . so would Gio but he still picks Kamara as a 10 before Lowry, that tells you all you need to know about how limited his game time will be.

Why would Hibs/Hearts/Aberdeen not take Lowry on loan from us ?

posted on 20/7/22

Hagi is out until next year so thats a non factor
Arfield & Kamara don't play the same position so that doesn't impact him
Lawrence potentially over a season but was signed to replace Ramsey and the role he was signed for

Tillman and Lowry are the 2 x 10s in the squad currently and Lowry is injured. As it stands you're talking about loaning a guy on the basis he can't get a game with no basis to go on.

Because it's far more appeasing to believe there is a global conspiracy geared towards inflating the fees of Rangers players than a far less simple explanation that perhaps that's just what the fee was.

100% he did, why wouldn't he?

if a deal has potential to be worth 16 million and u just say "its 16 million" then its just being economical with the truth.

i mean thats just him doing his job.
