A few words on Llorente, he comes in for a lot of stick but of the two CB's Marsch is putting Koch in his natural position and playing Llorente slightly out of position. A perfectly timed tackle last week and one again this week.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You can see from this I disagree, not for the first time with Jonty. I love a good tackle, Llorente was left exposed by his midfield and timed the tackle to perfection. If Phillips had done similar last season we'd all be purring about it. He played the ball, replays show that, it's all he needed to do. A fraction later into the tackle and he fouls his man, red card all day long, I agree but give the man his dues.

What are you disagreeing with exactly?

I said this:

" think Llorente was very very lucky to get away with that having made minimal, if any contact withe the ball."

you said:

"He played the ball, replays show that, it's all he needed to do. A fraction later into the tackle and he fouls his man, red card all day long, "

We're saying the same think, he was very very lucky, as you say and as I said, a fraction later it's a red card.

Have to say though that the pass from Mara for their second goal was impossible to counter. It was what we so often are missing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The player should never have received the ball.
It was a long punt up field from the goalkeeper that our defence should have headed away. kristenson makes a nothing challenge allowing Southampton the ball in a dangerous place. Harrison is then caught ball watching. Was a good pass and a good finish but very preventable.

There was no luck involved at all. It was a great tackle.

Speaking of corners, I really hate short corners, see little or no point in them and invariably they come to nothing for us. At the dead, why did they opt for a short corner. Long corner and get Mes up.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Poor decision making.
We basically ended up with LLORENTE having a toe punt at goal to win the game. One of the last players you would want shooting from the edge of the box. You’ve got Koch Llorente Struijk Rasmus. Put the ball in the mixing pot ffs!!

You're saying he is lucky, I am saying he timed the tackle to perfection, you are not giving him any credit for doing what he is paid to do. If you coach someone to do something and they do it, is that luck?
He wasn't in position to make the challenge a second earlier, a second later because Armstrong has the beating of him in a foot race the challenge ends in him bringing his man down or he is away bearing down on goal. Perfectly timed.
Cannot see why you feel Koch had a decent game when neither CB covered themselves in glory, most pundits feel that Llorente was marginally the better.
That said I have seen hugely varying assessments on most players out there, Dan James for example scores between 2 and 6.

I think there is a Llorente negativity band-wagon. Be interesting to see who JM favours when Coops does return.

I see the Sunday rags are linking us now with Ollie Watkins as Villa need to balance the books.. £20million apparently and again the Brereton Díaz from Blackburn for the same price is another of the sports hacks supposed stories or fairytales as they usually turn out to be with us actually signing a new centre forward.

Out of those two I'd prefer Watkins but the likelyhood seems remote with DJ yesterday being utilised as a forward this seems to be the direction the owners want to take.

I think we'd all agree that by gambling on Bamford's fitness is borderline crazy and even Joffy who had he been fit yesterday I've no doubt he would have made a bigger impact than James but unfortunately Joffy seems prone to lots of little niggles that keep him sidelined for too many games for my liking and that is a concern and further strengthens the argument for an extra number 9.

The tennis club comment has convinced me that this grey guy is Eric.

Which will be a shame if it is because the board is far better without him

posted on 14/8/22

I don't remember Eric but I actually think Grey is legit athough clearly a job in International Diplomacy is unlikely to come calling and his straight forward no nonsense views for many on here are unpalatable and remind me of a certain individual in 1974 that came in with all guns blazin.
I often wonder how the club's history would have differed had a more reserved tactful side of Mr Clough managed us or even had his assistant been persuaded to join him instead of staying at Brighton.

Well Ortas on holiday at the moment so no transfers this week!

Surely the injury to Bamford and Gelhardt must make them think.

Sounds like Jesse has spoken to the manager of Kai Wagners team about signing him, so the manager says.

anyone think we have mentality issue when we go one / two up. Thought that for a season or two. Also much better defensively with Cooper in team, best CB at club imho.

It may look as if they think they have done enough to win the game, when two up.

The moment they concede, when in front, the nerves kick in, and you can see the change in mentality and play.

They don't seem to be able to lift their game again.

That's where management has to step in, and make changes. Something Marsch didn't do when he should've in the Southampton game

I don't know if he is or isnt and dont really care.

Just seems bizarre that almost every comments has something levelled against myself personally and now against other posters, well, he can keep that sort of toxic stance, which destroys forums, off my threads now.

you said a fraction late he gets a red card ie unlucky, I'm saying he was lucky.

I really don't see it as a big deal, but if you do and choose to see it another way, no problem, we all see things slightly differently.

That’s exactly what I meant loidis. Appear to change game plan for some reason and then as you say can’t change it back

There seems to be a number of posters on here, right from the early days of JA plus the old 606 site, who seem incapable of communicating without being rude and insulting. I’ve given up asking Admins to sort it out as they don’t really seem to understand or care. I do agree that the only solution seems to be to filter people, which is a shame and shouldn’t be necessary. Oh well, such is society.

Yes unfortunately once you get personal and insult another person's views that may be different to your own then you are batting on a sticky wicket. Sadly Grey has certainly overstepped the mark in regards to insulting Jonty and therefore can have no complaints at being denied the opportunity to comment on Jonty's posts.

However please remind me did Lowfields and The Don get personal and insult posters on here or did their sometimes quite negative, to say the least, opinions on the club we all love upset certain posters to the point where there is an almighty pile in on both of them on a regular basis with a multitude of insults and personal rebuke?

Explain to me if that is the case why that is not bullying? If they originally dished it out then fair enough if you give it you must be prepared to take it otherwise as "The light Brigade" has said let's please be respectful of other supporters opinions and if you don't agree then iether ignore or engage in articulate language to support your argument or agree to disagree.

You can loads of different views on Leeds for many different reasons.

How old you are, what success you've seen/not seen through the years, how far away from club you live, when you work etc etc.

I only filter people if they become abusive and I don't want my own threads to be ruined by it, then hey can whine away on their own threads.

Bullying and harassment assent is real. "It was just a joke" doesn't cut it when people pulled up on it.

In the past I've had people set up accounts pretending to be myself and make stupid comments online, I've e even had someone phoning up my neighbours asking for details of my family, it got that stupid on here.

So now, if you're going to make stupid comments and do it repeatedly, I just filter and carry on conversation with normal people.

Jonty.. I'm so sorry you have had to endure what you have just described...I had no idea!
These people that do this clearly have some serious mental health issues... It's incredible but sadly a poor reflection on the state of society we seem to be living in. No boundaries, No discipline and a total sense of entitlement!

The first time I ever even noticed who lowlife was on here was when he created a thread attacking me and another poster.

Litrally didn't even know who he was before that.

So yes, yes he did get personal and insulting on here.

I look at how some people try and shame others by contacting their employers etc and think I got off relatively lightly, but people are jealous, spiteful, want to reputation ally damage and in my experience the sooner you just ignore and filter/block/whatever mechanism your social channels allow the better.

Invariably the perpetrators complain about free speech, but if they hadn't abused their free speech rights in the first place.....

Fair enough.... it beggers belief but as Jonty stated there usually is a large amount of jeolosy involved so in a curious way although it is unsavoury behaviour by certain individuals that feel a compulsion to attack, you can also turn it on its side and consider it a compliment to your intellectual superiority... that will drive them and their fragile ego even more crazy 🤪
