I couldn’t really get into Taxi Driver, just think it’s a little meh

Blade Runner 2049 would make my top 10, only mark down for it is having Jared Leto

I thought that about taxi driver first time, and it only just snook into my top 100, mainly on reputation.

But on a rewatch yesterday I thought it was a bit of an epic.

No idea what changed though cos it's not like there's something subtle in it that you either get or don't.

I think maybe one issue is that you need to put yourself there into the 70s and accept that when it's painting its picture of urban decay, it's going to be of the city in the 70s not in something more contemporarily recognisable for us. It looks dated now, but if you watch it through 70s eyes it isn't. That was a thought that I had while rewatching anyway.

I love the theatre scene in Ford's apartment in 2049. That is absolute top top class.

Rewatching Ex Machine atm. I love it, but I just can't get over the key cards
