Even if Russia are up there with china in terms of cyber attacks etc though (and im sure 'we' do the same to them tbh), for me Putin has always been open to diplomacy. It's the west as I see it that refused to listen to Putin's objections to being penned in by NATO, and I think engineered this situation to weaken Russia, knowing full well what the consequences would be for Ukrainians and those further afield.

Biden sees Russia (as no doubt the CIA does) as it was in the 1960s, but Russia has always struck me (this century) as being open to being a part of the international community, and to some extent to conform to its standards on the international stage. It's only because it felt that it was left with no choice that it partly abandoned that approach. China conversely has its own path and does not intend to bend it for anyone.

That's how I see it anyway.

I got banned from another site for it. It's up there with saying you think madeline mccan's kidnapper should be given a bit of a talking to and then told to go on his way.

I don't really agree. Its been proven that Russian interference was one of the main factors in Trumps election and Brexit being achieved - they have done a lot of damage to our democracy and while we aren't innocent either its not like we have interefered with any of their elections.

Hell, Russian bots are such a f*cking issue that we even genuinely have one on this obscure as hell site

Similarly I think Russia in some circumstances have been allowed to 'play ball' and have let themselves down continually. Whether that is assassinating people on British soil; being allowed to host sporting events after the biggest doping scandal ever; expoliting European countries previous over gas exports; or events like trying to take Crimea.

I appreciate there are multiple sides to the story and you could paint the US (for example) in a bad light as well - however they have been dodgy as fack and have a lot of power globally.

P.S. speks does post like a Russian bot.

Shouldn't the rappist have been suspended by now? I get there's due process and everything but The Club stalling on this could be worse pr than just getting it over with

Doesn't look good that we've known about it since last year and done nothing. I can only think they know something we don't about the nature of the relationships and truly believe he's innocent, but it's a big risk to take.

posted on 8/7/22

Surely even if they think he's innocent this is too much.. I suspect the reason they haven't acted is because he's telling the club nothing. If he's giving excuses and his people are covering for him The Club would have to find other reasons to suspend him. Knowing ain't the same as knowing, nowhatimean

Perhaps. Tbh the whole thing makes me feel really uneasy and I'm not comfortable with how the club are handling it, but I also don't wanna jump to any conclusions.

That's the nature of it right?

I wish it was one of your guys rather than having to look inwards on our club

Yeah it's distasteful for sure. That's why I think they're better off getting it out of the way sooner rather than later. I can't see a good reason (either your idea or mine) for not dealing with it and moving on.

On the practical side, it puts The Club in a tough spot in the market. Replacing The Player won't be easy

Yep I agree on both counts. People are definitely going to squeeze us for every penny knowing how desperate we are.
