Reflective of how football has become, I'd have the best strikers and attackers of all time closer to recent - yet CB's and keepers from a bit further back.

Realise this a prem discussion but I can’t believe how bad England are now with choice at centre back

Carragher would walk into the England team now but was barely top 10 even at his best

Same with strikers ….we had such a talented pool of them that fowler could hardly get in

What happened ?!

I think getting to 3 golden boots is a good bar for the pinnacle attackers/strikers

Carra when you include European CBs of his era doesnt make top 20

I dont think he'd have had the career he did had he not been Liverpool academy, he took the chance though and did great with it

Where the game is won and lost changed. CBs have it so difficult now (although turning way more negative lately) as the high attack option has been the preferred in all levels of football

you have to be exceptional at reading the game and the tactics now

you could get away with just being physically good for the role in the 00s

Yeah, feels like we are in between generations a bit though

This season in particular has been so miserable and negative in the PL. Worst spectacle I’ve seen for a while

Yeah Arteta winning the league will have dire consequences if it happens

EA being bought by Saudis keeps the company at about the same amount of evil i guess

Part of me wanted arsenal to win the title over city a couple of seasons ago as I was fed up of them

I’m not from London so don’t have to suffer any abuse from them lot , in fact I think I know one arsenal fan

Arteta has made them insufferable…..i get almost as much enjoyment watching them lose as I do us win due to him and their whiny fan base

Maybe because he wasnt all that.

Rooney was fantastic

I still remember his debut ….17 years old and pinged one in the top corner against arsenal

He didn’t look after himself well and burnt out late twenties but to say he wasn’t all that is a bit much

He was world class

Rooney also barely played as the lead striker and whenever he did won the golden boot

The tail off was predictable tbf

Smoked and couldnt control his weight, also played so much as a teenager
