We'll never know, but he has a knack for being tidy in the opposition box, quick feet and movement.

He won’t be the one choosing who we buy and how much we spend. If he’s replaced it’ll still be the same people in charge of doing that.

and he hasnt had an entire season at all ... he has had 1 winter transfer window to which the club brought in a young cheap LB.

I dont know what was to be expected tbh. you have a very poor squad right now full of over paid players that dont seem to hve any real desire. And 1 transfer window bringing in a LB wasnt gonna change that.

its really not, its half a season. you have played 59 games this season so if your 29 is correct then its half a season.

We also bought players that we assumed would suit EtH, Ole, Jose, LvG and Moyes too and they were all mainly poor. The issue is far bigger than just the manager.

exactly, a whole new system and style of play to what the previous managers had employed and one player was signed to help with that.

In hindsight its a terrible appointment of Amorim to bring in a guy with a total different philosophy or previous managers but with no support in terms of financing in order to bring in players suited to this new manager.

As much as I advocated for Amorim being given a chance next season, I am perplexed at what I saw last night. The team selection was odd and his game management/substitutions were not good enough/soon enough.

I can fully understand why he wanted to wait until this summer before joining. He knew the squad wasn't suited to his formation/tactics. And he was pretty open about this by admitting that things would get worse before they got better.

I think Ruben prob let the recruitment team know that LB was a priority position.

The recruitment team would have either used the data they collated already and used it in combination of the budget available and then picked out maybe 2/3 targets and Amorim with the recruitment team would decide over those players together.

You must mental if you thin that Ruben deals with budgets and scouting for players as well as coaching the team.

Managers are more coaches now and the club hires more specific staff to deal with scouting and deals with new players.

The way that it works is that Amorim identifies the profile of the player he needs. The scouting/recruitment team do their job to identify targets and present them to Amorim and he has the final say over player signings. We don't/won't sign anyone without his approval.
