Have a look at any player doing anything.....jumping for the ball, running, tackling, shooting...arms are never tucked in by your side because they are used for balance.
If that was a pen then any handball is a penalty
Not if it's outside the box
The rule should be if it interfears with play. The ball was heading for the goal and hit a hand which made the balkl change directon. So in my eyes that means a hand stopped a goal scoring opportuntiy.
It was a clear Penalty

I think it was a dive
This is one of the few threads today that has really delved into a football discussion with a variety of opinions. well done OP - 5 stars.
I encourage others to do the same
If it looks like at 'save' then it's handball and a penaty.
Act like a 'keeper in the penalty are by extending you arms to 'save' a goal bound shot or prevent the ball progessing on it's designated trajectory and you can have no complaints...
To be honest, when I first saw it at normal speed I thought 'Stone wall penalty'. It's only after the benefit of replays I thought "Oh, we got lucky there".
Then again, he did have his arms outstretched which is what makes it debatable too.
Honestly, I would have thought it was a stone waller on seeing it at normal speed if it had been given against us, but on seeing the replay I would have been gutted.
This is one of the few instances this season I have actually had sympathy for the ref with a dubious decision, as it clearly looked a stone wall penalty, and the ref only has that one instance to make up his mind.
