I'm not sure debating debating is worth debating?

I don't see any problem with trying to get to the bottom of why England conceded the goal.

I think it's interesting to see how other people analyse these things.
------------------------------------
That's my take on all debate when people give genuine opinions. i find it interesting how other people see things and also, I enjoy learning something new and having my opinion changed, if I have something wrong. Furthermore, I like putting my opinion out there and seeing what others think of it.

In short, I like debate and this site is a great platform on it, so two liners complaining about it, don't really do anything for anybody. If one doesn't like it, move on.

TOOR

Take a look at the video below. At 1.36 you sed Cahill pointing at JKH and telling Smalling to stay with him. At this point Cahill should have stepped to the right and pushed Robben on to his right foot and towards Baines. Unfortunately he didn't position himself properly and as he turned side on he left Robben with the easy task of turning into the acres of space on the inside. I really don't think it was Smallings fault. Had he ignored Cahill and Holland had scored he'd be getting slated. Usually in a defence the man at furthest back makes the call. Cahill made the right call but got his positioning wrong in my opinion.

OK I'll play too

It was neither's fault and both their fault at the same time
Because it was just a very good goal by the Dutch

Huntelar's run made the goal which in the end was a great finish from outside the 18.

It was an excellent goal redconn. But what do you think would have happened if Cahill had stepped to his right as JKH made his run? What would Robben have done?

probably gone right forcing Smalling to stop his run(if he hadn't already done so), slipped the ball between the 2 centrebacks to the unmarked Huntelaar, and Hart would have had a big job to do.

It was just a good goal. Maybe better centrebacks or just ones who'd played together before would have done better, maybe not.

With those 2 lethal forwards running at you with the entire midfield support nowhere in sight (probably the real blame), even the best would end up with a bit of brown in their pants.

I think if Cahill had stepped to right when he should have, Smalling was already in behind Cahill with JKH. Had Robben gone right he would have been in a more congested space on his weaker foot. It would also have given Baines a chance of getting involved.

I'm surprised Hart let one in from that distance too. The whole side was at fault from the edge of their 18 where we were beaten to a 50/50 ball, cut through a non-existent midfield, ripped through a calamitous centreback miscommunication and beat a keeper who almost never gets beaten from that distance.

Credit to the dutch, a lot of skill in effect 'caused' all that.

Young's goal was the exact opposite from England's perspective. Nearly the entire side involved in the build up, beat their markers, handed off the right pass, and a top finish at the end. Must have been 7-8 players getting it right.
