All contract details including salaries are registered with the Football League. JOC's new salary is a reduction on his previous salary which included a premium of £2k per week because we got him on a Bosman.

The Mellor salary for last season was right at £18k but the drop for relegation is only to £12k at Preston. I don't know what the sticking point is but I know that the deal is not dead yet. I suspect that Mellor is hoping to get more interest nearer £12k per week because although Phil Brown says that PNE want him, they cannot afford to keep him.

12k a week to maybe put in an effort now and again? This sport really is going to sh*t isn't it.

you're not wrong Statesideowl. I would give anything to be able to play football again (now my 33 year old legs are knackered), I would pay to play for Wednesday, to get a years wage every couple of weeks is complete madness. I hate football!!!
