Town usually play in Cumbria around Christmas or New Year, most fans are already enroute before inevitably it gets called off because of the weather !!
If that happens on Saturday I’ll eat my hat !!
Town head up north for this vital League 1 clash with in form Carlisle United.
So far in March, both teams have played 6, won 3, drawn 3.
Line ups last time out:
Huddersfield Town
• 01 Smithies
• 05 P Clarke
• 08 Kay
• 12 T Clarke
• 15 Morrison
• 32 Hunt
• 07 Roberts
• 11 Ward
• 20 Arismendi
• 17 Rhodes
• 21 Novak
Carlisle United
• 01 Collin
• 02 Simek
• 05 Livesey
• 06 Murphy
• 04 McGovern
• 12 Taiwo
• 17 Noble
• 21 Berrett
• 24 Chantler
• 13 Zoko
• 14 Miller
Carlisle United have been in fine form this season & are very much in the race for the probable 1 remaining play off place available.
They have very strong home form. W 10 D6 L3
They lost those 3 games at home in the first month of the season, losing to Notts County, Hartlepool & M K Dons.
So yes chaps they are undefeated at home in 6 months.
Carlisle top scorers
Miller 14, Zoko 12 Berrett 8.
Town top scorers
Rhodes 35, Novak, 13, Lee 7
All goals NOT just League goals.
Town head to Brunton Park after winning our previous 2 League games, under Grayson we have achieved 16 points from his 8 games in charge, if we do the same for the remaining 8 we will again reach 87 points, which I don’t believe will be enough.
I think Town could win 6, draw 1 & lose 1 to reach 90 points, & that still not be enough.
I have a feeling we will beat then on Saturday, our defence is now looking a lot less leaky, & our midfield seems to have a bit of direction now with Arismendi at the helm.
Its away days like these towards the end of the season that the teams going for auto SHOULD be winning.
Last Meeting : Friday December 30th 2011 , Galpharm Stadium 1-1,
Goals from Noble on 8 mins, followed by a Rhodes equaliser on 38,
Yet another frustrating draw. !
Famous encounters
I have gone for the second leg of the semi finals of the Autoglass Trophy in 1994 at Brunton Park.
Town headed up North after winning 4-1 at the old Leeds Road ( one of the last games to be played there )
I remember having a great day out, travelling to Cumbria with my sister & our late uncle, we spent some time in the lakes, then went up to Gretna Green !
Anyway, Town being Town, we lost that game 2-0, boy we were sweating at the end, but the celebrations were fantastic as Town reached Wembley for the first time in 56 years !
We did lose the final on pens to Swansea, but a great day out !
Want a Drink ?
The Carlisle Rugby Club next to Brunton Park on the Warwick Road has a club bar which allows away fans; Near Warwick Road is the beehive, Howard Arms which is on Lowther Street that is just off Warwick Road towards the Town centre. Also Lakeland Gate which is a family friendly pub,
Food
If you leave the M6 on Junction 43 & take the A69 towards Carlisle then there is a Toby Carvery not too far from the ground.
How to get there & were to park
Leave the M6 at Junction 43, take the A69 towards Carlisle, after a mile the ground is on the right, the club car park is usually busy & with Town going even more so, the club car park is the first right immediately after Brunton Park, into Victoria Place then first right onto St Aidans Road, otherwise it is street parking.
A crucial week ahead, with 6 precious away points to win, followed by the HUGE game V the Wednesday !!
Squeeky bum time !!
UTT !

what do you mean they "could" put 11 monkeys in town shirts..
being honest you could probably train monkeys to do better than town...
im moving to cornwall, was going to be in 18 months to two years, might well be much sooner, nothing to do with htfc..
if it happens i dont need a season ticket.. i will be at the exeter away game though
i will miss the away days and some of the people who sit near us..we chat like old friends even though i dont even know some of their names, i will miss that, the shared whatever it is with footie fans.. i wont miss paying to watch players who really, really are nowhere near as good on a pitch as they are in their own(and agents-and lee clarks) heads.. deluded is the word that springs to mind..
ward miscontrolled every single pass to him and then miscontrolled the ball after he had finally got it to stop, it was very surreal watching it, it reminded me of gazza when he was larking about on tv and kept bending down to pick up a ball but kept toe poking it away from himself, it was very odd.. a million quids worth?????

Cathartic .. Catharsis .. A couple of words you'd expect from the Rsy side of me and yet either of em will sum up just what this thread has produced for Jacko in particular~ Incredible Post that one about 5 hrs back Jacko Just Incredible as it contains a good 3yrs or more of deep thinking through and Surely will fit many folks like a tailor made suit its another post which like Cas before you deserves wider readership
Hell I know this forum can trawl around the ~ Racist Posting Sewers now n then BUT Boy Can it Hit the Highs too .. Alas Rev Lovejoy will not very likely come on and applaud us for this debate level tho ..
Tremendous Once Again Wethers .. Just blud- brilliant & its such a Shame The Good Captain Dubbin isn't around to sum it all up with a Touch of Class in one of his typically short succinct posts .. ..
Btw Whichever Rse gave the thread a 1 Star should be given a free season ticket from 'Oily' for next time .. .. Lou eh .. ..
NB: CATHARTIC .. One of its many definitions would be ~
An exercise in just letting out all the garbage stored inside one .. or equally CATHARSIS: A good written/spoken sobbing session can be a great healer when feeling hurt ..
Honestly Jacko I know we don't always see eye2eye BUT Major High Fives for the effort you Must've put into that post which to be fair was Matched Up in Similar levels by several other posters following it .. ..

The thing is Bootsy..we have all been guilty of believing that success is just around that corner. It's been wait for the next match for too long now. We've been told we have a talented squad, even that we are a great team...and we've believed it all.
last season we were close, but then surely in the final against a team 10 points behind us..? everyone turned up...35,000...this was the day, at last...and Clark cocked it up.
this season we have started off as we finished..dour and still inconsistent. New additions made no difference..but we were promised this would be the season.
many fans had already given up on Lee Clark and were glad when he went..we weren't going anywhere anyway.
With the arrival of Grayson, a good proven manager, came the the gradual realisation that he couldn't make us any better, and that in fact the players we have are not as good as we were told they were. We had been sold a pup.
You've only got to look back over each of the past 4 years to see the truth. We have never had a 'team'.
All that belief, all that hype but now I've seen it for what it really is...a mediocre over paid lazy bunch of prima donnas...who stick their fingers up at the fans who complain about the dire performnaces, those same fans who earn a fraction of their wages. That just shows what the culture is like amongst the players..they don't give a sheet for town or the fans...that's why they are not prepared to bust a gut when playing for us.
Lee Clark brought all this lot in, presumably he never looked into what type of characters they had ..
They can't string two decent games together, and I'm not sure what tactics grayson gives them, but I'm sure they just do their own thing.
We may get lucky in the play-offs, or we may be honoured with a day when the players actually feel like doing a shift for a change..who knows, who'se ever known.
i feel sorry for Grayson, he'll be having to either seriously kick some ass or go and tell Deano
he's shipping 15 players out.

As Our Town Site/forum/board becomes Increasingly Popular with Heavyweights Returning & Fresh Young blood bursting their butts to post ~ Match Thread Co-ordination becomes much more important~
A Full List of Matches Taken and those Still Available needs posting to avoid doubling up as with MBWB & LV both of whom we know can do terrific jobs on em ..

Completely !! Let The Go !!
Check Out Brendan Rodgers and Swansea .. (just been on tele and I keep banging on about him/em) and then reflect on what in Football Can Be .. .. Positive Thinkings The Answer ..
Just needs a new set o circumstances coupled with a run of luck ..
Who's to say apart from Clive n Lovejoy that Simon Grayson with Deano's Wholesome Support won't produce the next Set of Swans ..
I've not been so optimistic in years .. Come ride pillion with me .. You'll Luv it .. ..

having seen carlisle 2nd goal about 5 times now...i am wondering what Peter Clark thought he was doing when he abandoned their guy to score the winner. If he had tracked him, he could have challenged for the header, but he zoomed off somewhere.
Bootsy ?
Good wrtit up on Town game in Guardian today..decribed Town as 'lumbersome'... that's about as good as it got..
