LENNON IS TAINTING CELTIC'S TITLE GLORY DECLARES NICHOLAS

Celtic manager Neil Lennon

Friday March 30,2012
By Scott Burns

CELTIC legend Charlie Nicholas last night declared the only person tainting the Hoops forthcoming Title glory is manager Neil Lennon.
With the team boss now facing three SFA disciplinary charges Nicholas believes he has become an " embarrassment " to the club and taken deserved credit away from the players.

Nicholas is adamant that the focus should all be on a side that has been very worthy of claiming the SPL Flag instead of becoming a managerial sideshow soured by frequent rows over refereeing decisions.

"It should all be about the team and their achievements on the park but now it has become more about Neil Lennon, squabbling again with referees and how the officials helped to blow Celtic's treble. " he declared.

"It has come from a point where they were 21 points ahead and nobody could argue if they walked away with the title by more than 20 points because the players have worked hard and chalked up an impressive run.

"But that now seems to have gone and now and the manager is taking centre stage. Celtic are , of course, going to win the title but they should just go and do it the right way in my book instead of getting involved in more rows with officials.

"Lennon now seems to have a one-man agenda of I want this and that and the football, which has been this season's success story, is quickly being forgotten about. "

"He has built up all the goodness and now he is on the verge of throwing it all away again."

"Celtic are the best club on the planet when it comes to using paranoia but we have to get away from that."

On the earlier Brown discussion:

Newcastle offered Celtic £6million the transfer window after we bought him. And he also wanted to move.

But there have been no bids in the last couple of seasons.

I'm not going into sources or anything like that, I'm not selling anyone out on an internet forum.

We should have let him go Im not surprised there have been no bids since he has in the main been pash since signing played better since coming back from injury this season though but still not the player I thought we were getting when we signed him

£6m for Broon

ritchie...I thought Thomson was better at hibs

In retrospect Thomson was the better player by farI did think (wrongly) that Broony was the more exciting player at the time but hes been a huge dissapointment and its clear that Thomson was the brains behind the Hibs midfield and made Broony look better than he actually was/is.

Too many people had ridiculous expectations of Brown. In his first season he had to live through his sister having cancer and dying. Ever since he has been hampered by injuries.

Now he's injury free he's been a machine in our midfield, breaking up play and kick starting attacks when required. He gives his absolute best every game, unlike some players of late who have tried coasting through games. And he can score a penalty

your probably right there jukebox I thought we were getting a great prospect but we actually got a pretty ordinary player he does have great workrate and heart though. The tragedy that affected his family with his sister was extremely sad but at the end of the day we have all lost loved ones but you just have to get on with your work so I cant see that this has any bearing on his performances I would have thought playing football would be a great release from the very sad time he and his family were experiencing
