Rooney has scored in four of his last five Premier League appearances against Rovers.

Rio Ferdinand will be fit for Manchester United's local derby. Ferdinand had to be replaced during this week's win over Fulham with a back problem but boss Sir Alex Ferguson feels the prompt action will ensure his most experienced defender is fit for the Ewood Park encounter. Nani (ankle) is still sidelined, along with long-term absentees Michael Owen, Anders Lindegaard, Anderson, Nemanja Vidic and Darren Fletcher.

Sir Alex Ferguson: "It just shows you how things can change when you dig in and don't let things get to you. Now, no-one talks about their fans and any protests. He (Kean) has held his dignity very well and he deserves praise from everyone including his own supporters. I'm sure a lot of them will be wishing they hadn't done that because he's certainly shown his mettle during those times when things were difficult for him."

Robinson, Lowe, Dann, Grant Hanley, Martin Olsson, Orr, Pedersen, Nzonzi, Marcus Olsson, Hoilett, Yakubu

Defender Gael Givet is again Blackburn's only doubt ahead of their clash with leaders Manchester United. Givet aggravated a slight hamstring problem while warming up during the victory over Sunderland earlier this month and is recovering slower than anticipated. Boss Steve Kean has named the same side for the previous three matches.

Steve Kean: "It obviously depends how the results go with other teams but I've said for a number of weeks it's about us making sure we can perform consistently. We need to make sure we maintain our status, that's the first target, and then strengthen and make sure we can improve. We need to make sure there's a balance between the young players getting into the team and the experience that we have, because we've lost so much experience,"

Kissing Cameras Prediction!

A potential banana skin today, my heart says 1-2 but my head says 1-1.

I still think games like this would be perfect for Huntelaar! I hope Fergie signs him this time around. I see Chich playing a more Solksjaer role and Wellbeck is not ready to play every game yet but he's definitely the future.

We put a lot of balls in the box but nobody on the end of them. Huntelaar would be. I think he's the perfect for for us. But we do need a more creative midfielder too.

JKN - Huntelaar is a good shout too

United primarily are a winger orientated team, always have been under SAF

A clinical and regular finisher is vital

I would like to see young behind rooney, with valencia and nani on the wings, until we get a striker
