So, this evening we travel to Barnet, is this a potential banana skin game ??
What makes me ask the question is, that in three out of our four previous games we have failed to score, at Crewe, Wembley and on Saturday against the Gas, we failed to score. In recent home games we have had the jitters before scoring a goal, sometimes a lucky goal, before the team has settled down. At times over recent weeks, after a while you are asking yourself, where is the next goal coming from, and then we score, you know, sods-law, but as I said before its not been convincing.
With Caddis still injured, Ritchie, if he plays, will be compromised in not enjoying the over lap and understanding he has with his Captain.
The absence of a given partnership up front also bodes a sour note, although Benson and Connell do appear to be the best pairing with Bodin out on loan.
RDV while not being prolific is always dangerous if he is given the chance but we don't have the luxury of time on our side for partnerships and understandings to develop.
The flip side of the coin is that Barnet when they do put it together are able to close the door at the back in comparison to what they were doing and dogged, stubborn defending, like Gas can be frustrating as much as displeasing as the whole spectacle for the spectator is somewhat nullified.
It seems that Lake Ta-hoe has had the plug pulled and I doubt if he will even make the bench, unless a lot of kissing and making up went on today.
So that leaves Benson,Connell and Murray as the likely lads with DeVita as a good stand by and I strongly suspect that because of his ability to play almost anywhere he will at least make the bench, with the view to coming on for at least the second half as a third option to who ever may be striking up front..
Including this there are still 8 games to play, 24 points up for grabs and a lot to play for, most of the other teams around us have just 18 points up for grabs, but the season is far from over, and many would have you believe we are as good as up already, time will tell.
Final score, I think it could be very close, but my heart says Town win, my head says, don't be surprised if they turn us over. I hope I'm wrong.
I'll be looking to watch it on live stream, www.lshunter.tv being one of the faves if its on at all.

I think this is hard to call. They will be scrapping for the points which they desperately need and should have got something against Torquay. Add a crap pitch and it becomes something of a lottery. I don't think we'll win this and I'll be happy if we come away with a point. It's important that we don't lose.

When I wrote the article I was being very apprehensive given recent form. Most of you guys from what I saw were like minded, showing perhaps that a few of us don't take things for granted as we have had our legs slapped before.
We have beaten a lowly side tonight who had their chances but didn't put them away, even McCload was off target and perhaps a bit off form, but we had two chances and took them and played better than of late, all be it against a struggling side.
We are it seems at least in the play offs now, but as we older campaigners know, its not over until it is, over.
We have seven games left and those around us mostly six, so we are still very catchable.
Our injury list is now my main concern as it seems to keep going away from us, but relief may be at hand through our youngsters.
I suspect Sluggy Evans will not be over joyed at our result, but I'll lay good money that after these three points Wray and Canio will sleep a whole lot easier tonight.
Well done Town, and well done to our magnificent travelling supporters.

we have:
Morecambe A
Northampton H
Plymouth H
Aldershot A
Gills A
Port Vale H
Bradford A
with our GD, one more win & Pox & Chelt can't catch us. If we don't get that v Northampton, we don't deserve promotion. That leaves Southend, Shrews & the creepies. If we get 14 points from the 7 games, no-one can catch us. Even if they all get maximum points.
That won't happen if any of them have to play each other.
As I see it, we should get auto promotion now, maybe not as champions. But it is the 100th anniversary of something that everybody thought unsinkable!
