Bournemouth v Huddersfield Town

The Cherries Vs The Terriers
at Dean Court
Monday 9th April 2012
3PM

Buckets and spades are the order the day as we set off to the seaside to take on Bournemouth at the Dean Court Stadium.

Town sit in 4th place in the League, whilst Bournemouth are in 13th. This is Town's third match in a week, having played our game in hand at Leyton Orient on Tuesday and fellow promotion rivals Sheffield Wednesday at home on Saturday. Bournemouth come into this following their defeat against Sheffield Utd at Bramall Lane on Saturday.

Bournemouth sacked their manager of 14 months, Lee Bradbury, just over 2 weeks ago. He took them to the play-off semi-finals last season ... and don't we know all about that?! Youth team manager, Paul Groves, and head of youth, Shaun Brooks, are in temporary charge.

How To Get There

If travelling from the north, leave house, face southwards and keep going until you get to the sea.

By Car & Where To Park

Follow the A338 towards Bournemouth. The ground is situated on the left of the A338 in the outskirts of Bournemouth. If you keep looking up to the left as you go into Bournemouth you will eventually see the tops of the ground floodlights. At this point take the next exit off the A338 and turn left towards the ground. There is a large car park located at the ground, however please note that this costs 50p per hour, otherwise you may find yourself with a penalty ticket for your trouble. Alternatively, there is a council run car park, on the opposite side of the dual carriageway, which is handy for getting away quickly after the game.

By Train

The nearest train station is Pokesdown which is roughly a mile from the ground and is around a 15 minute walk away. However, most trains arrive at Bournemouth Central, which is around a half an hour walk to the ground. If you do arrive at Pokesdown Station (which is served by trains from London Waterloo), use the only exit and turn right down the main Christchurch Road (A35). Proceed for about 400 metres and then turn right into Gloucester Road. Dean Court is located at the bottom of this road.

If you arrive at Bournemouth Central, then leave the station by the South exit, thereby facing an Asda Supermarket. Turn left and walk down to the main Holdenhurst Road. Turn left (going away from the town centre) and then keep straight on along Holdenhurst Road for around 25 minutes, reaching the Queens Park pub (recommended by this Guide). Continue straight on past the pub until you reach a roundabout at which you turn right into Kings Park Drive. The ground is down the bottom of this road on the left. Alternatively you can catch a Yellow Number 33 bus to the ground, normally a half hourly service. Come out of Station again by the South exit, facing Asda and turn left until you get to a Texaco Garage. There is a bus stop with shelter on the same side of the road. Ask the driver to be let off near Kings Park Drive. Coming back take Yellow No 2.

Feeling thirsty?

There is the Legends Bar located at the stadium which allows in away fans in family groups. The 1910 Supporters Bar which is located upstairs above it, is for home fans only. Although the Queens Park Hotel on Holdenhurst Road (alongside the A338 Wessex Way) has now re-opened, it is now unfortunately for home fans only. Around a 10-15 minute walk away is the Sir Percy Florence Wetherspoon outlet on Christchurch Street, in nearby Boscombe. Away fans are welcome at this pub, but no colours are allowed. Next door from Wetherspoons is the Mello Mello bar which also admits away supporters (and with colours). Otherwise alcohol is available to visiting supporters inside the stadium at £3 a pint.

Who's batted for both sides?

Lionel Ainsworth, Vince Bartram (who?), Donal McDermott, Scott McDonald, Graham Mitchell (short loan at Bournemouth), Anton Robinson, Jamie Vincent, Paul Aimson, Neil Hague.

"The only suprise is that anyone is suprised..."

Surprise, surprise! I'm not surprised!

"Well i saw a smashing game full of commited players who never give up..."

I saw it too Bryce. Great performance, fantastic atmosphere, and wonderful support. The Galpharm Stadium was really rocking!

I'm thinking of running a sweepstake on how long it will be before Dean Hoyle departs. Any takers?

Nah 38....
I reckon it'll be a goal fest....Both teams with eager attackers....a defence that is left stranded by no midfield....
We require ONE point per game in the next 4 to get in the play offs....
I think we'll do it, but only just.....
To win in play offs..no chance....just a few good days out..

mk dons is not a good day out.. carlisle is worse.. notts county with lee hughes dont bear thinking about..
with the prospect of meeting wendies in the final....at least if we played them over 2 games we wouldnt have to travel to wembley and back..
im not going to bother checking but has the team with the worst record in the run in ever won a play off???

two 0-0 draws and a penalties win, followed by another 0-0 at wembley and a penalty win.. can it be done???
its what smithies is best at..he cant set a wall to save his life..

Mk Dons is a definate unless something weird happens....
Whether its home or away 1st is the only question....

Mk Dons have always played better football than us...Lewington will be the difference....
So it's MK Dons n' Wendies in the final... job done...Donny 1st game o the season 0-0
