Watching the Soton v Reading game last night and couldn't help wondering whether we possibly missed a trick when Adam Le Fondre was banging in the goals at Rotherham ?
I seem to recollect that a number of posters on this board mentioned his name but as ever, there is always the nagging doubt whether such players can make the step up.
As against LEEDS the previous week he bagged another double in a short space of time and the goals he scored last night were pure quality and instinctive.
Given that he is young and went for less than a million and probably won't be on as much money as Paynter then I would say that we have missed a trick with him.
Shame.
