NY , listened to the interview - sounds like great news if it comes off!! Hopefully this will stabilise the club and give Deano a fighting chance next season!!

Hound bud, it’s a very lonely place being a Donny fan in Malta.
Things like this are a life line matey.
I love reading what people have to say, it keeps me feeling involved.
Sorry if I offended anyone!

xondrfc:
I'm intrigued what Malta is like now. I've been once in 1966 as a two-week station at Luqa (Luqua?) with the RAFVR.
It was while England won the World Cup. We watched it on Italian TV with the sound turned-down and the Beeb on the radio.
That evening in Valetta we did not buy a drink as all the locals were happy England had won. Of course, this was pre-Mintoff days! (I think that was his name).
The good old days - a G &T was one shilling in the Mess - 4 pennies for the gin and 8 for the tonic!

Is this interview that you lot are on about the one on Rovers Player.
If it is then i cant listen to it yet as i dont subscribe.
I have listened to the interview for radio sheffield on the bbc sport website and Deono sounds very positive on there about next season.
Xon - i knew your comment was a joke matey and you certainly havent offended me.
I try to get on the computer as much as poss for away games as i cant get to many these days but if i cant i always have a phone connection for the live scores.
I was in the cheese rack in the supermarket when i shouted out the "yeeessss" yesterday.
I see this morning that Tesco's have reported a big increase in sales of Cathedral City cheese this morning.

I think cov and donny will be fighting it out for the top 2 next season.championship clubs do tend to hold onto most of their players when they go into L1 recently and they are better than regular L1 clubs have.reason hudders cannot buy their way out of it from 4 seasons of trying because clubs coming down from championship have better players overall that the likes of them can attract.they spent 1 mill on ex leeds academy player Danny ward and he looks like a fish out of water at top end of L1.would not worry about bouncing straight back.

Superwhites,
I am not normally pessimistic but we have a number of problems to sort out.
1. Offloading the expensive players.
2. Keeping our Chairman who is very down at the moment.
3. Acquiring cheaper players that fit in with Deano.
4. Building up our support base.
But on the positive side apparently we have a very good CEO in position now.
Deano will be his own man in L1 and no ties to McKay.
Promotion is not the be all and end all. I will be happy for Deano to stop the rot and build for the future without making excuses for failure.
If only he was as good a manager as he was a player.

Alex, are not most your players on wages that you could accommodate at L1 level?I think donny should look to get in a few players from L2 as the wages they are on will not be as much as donny can pay and plenty of players in that league are just looking for the chance to excel higher up and sure Deano could find a few gems.I wish you luck

It sounds like we have a wage bill of £8m and we have to cut it in half or even more. Because 12 have contracts for the season we have a problem. I think our old players would have done well in L1 I can see the clubs point of view they have to make severe cut backs and it means some of my favourite players must go. But its not the end of the world we can do it.

So it's time for the players that are Doncaster to stand up and be counted!!!
