I'd respectfully suggest that option A is the only answer. Why you think there was only options A+B is a mystery to me. If someone threatens you and you're of the opinion that you're seriously under the threat of physical violence then you can WALK away thus saving you the possibility of injury and /or the possibility of having to hit someone. Or there's the option that you can talk to a policeman who is duty bound as a police constable to maintain the peace .
You know yourself that hitting the guy was the wrong thing to do and yet you did it thinking that extricating yourself from the situation would have been more embarrassing than the prospect of losing your self control was.
I just hope you've learned something from it.

Depends on the situation. If you are under immediate threat of violence then under common law you can hit first. Sometimes the option of walking away & seeking a cop are not viable..
If action is taken and CCTV used, then the fear Trig had prior 'could' justify his actions..

We all have our own opinions, be it regarding formations, players, plan B or managers. We should be allowed to post them without fear of being ridiculed by other posters. I have a strong hate for a certain user on this site, but sometimes I do agree with some of his comments, and dont argue with him or lower myself to call him names or make veiled threats.

Agree entirely with WF and THCs comments.
Have to say though, Mallorca and RR set a low bar for the thread, but trigger limboed right under it saying that.
Also, if that guy said he wanted to hit you then I assume you were doing something to wind him up in the first place?
