!!SPOILERS!! Evans

How is this guy still main eventing? Yes he was a huge part in bringing UFC to the forefront of TV etc. But when was the last time he looked fit and actually looked capable of finishing a fight? Last night run out after 2.5 rounds, Vs Jackson.......well both fighters looked shocking and barely lasted the fight. Am i missing the fights in which Evans does well as im certain i havent seen one for over 2 years.

Just looked at the rankings and he is 3rd! Wow.

What do other people think about Mr Evans, and i suppose this can also be said for Mr Jackson also.....

An underwhelming fight after the hype. First round was competitive, in the second Jones turned it up and Evans took a bit of a beating (standing elbow strikes from hell) which then left him looking like a spent force. I was more surprised at Jones' inability to finish last night, although he dominated those final rounds with relative ease.

I really thought Evans would be more mobile & more elusive than he was, but all credit to Jones who kept the pressure on.

Who's next for Jones? Gustaffson will surely get his chance if he continues to impress, how long will the UFC make him wait?

Yeh but we have seen that Silva isnt untouchable - had his ass handed to him for 5 rounds and just managed a sub late in the 5th. Though that weight class there are lots of fights who can step upto the main event. I think Vik maybe points out why it is always is Jones, Evans, Jackson as outside that there are very few fighers.

rashad evans? correct me if i'm wrong but that's only the second defeat of his career and he's been fighting at the top of a deep light heavyweight division for a number of years now, so KO's aren't going to be easy to come by.

as for rampage, he is well past his best but he is still a PPV draw and his fights still fights sell.

It looked like Evans' takedown attempts were just buying him some time to stopping get hit - cant blame him! Unsure why Jones didn't take him down in those moments, the sheer size and power advantage was plainly obvious to see.

Agreed vik, he really is a beast and will continue to improve, no doubt about that.

Have seen that Henderson is now next in line. He has the ko power to threaten any fighter, but I can't see him getting anywhere near Jones. Looking forward to seeing what happens though!

Wasnt doubting his record - was just pointing out for the last 2 years he hasnt looked quite fight ready and running on empty from about round 2.5 onwards.........which is ok in 3 round fights but when you are main eventing its 5 rounds, and lets be honest if you are a pro and you know this you should be able to last the whole 5 rounds and look half good doing it..........................its fine for someone like Big Country to look knackered after 3 rounds (although the guy is improving every fight). Well this is just my opinion, just makes me laugh when the other fights are all more or less better than the so called "main event"

it's often the case that undercard fights are better than the main events.

a lot of those guys take more chances with less at stake and a most of them don't get much money to fight, so a fight or KO of the night bonus makes a huge difference to most of the fringe contenders.
