to UEFA to get their suspended players (except Terry) in to the final.
The rule is totally flawed, just for once it would be nice to see a sports governing body show some initiative, admit they are wrong and not hide behind the rule book and the standard bureaucracy that permeates through these type of organisations.
Bayern & Chelsea should joint appeal

I'd say the rule is more in place to prevent the cynical fouls to prevent counters. If you're hauling down someone to prevent getting caught on the break every other match and squeak through in part because of that, then you deserve to miss a match.

Biggish - The internanational players union FIFPRO have appealed to UEFA to give clemency to the six suspended players.

Mr Chelsea......................... All they have done is suggested on their web page that clemency would be fair.
You cannot give retrospective clemency on this as it affects more than just Chelsea or Bayern.
As previously stated yellow cards may have kept player out of the quarter finals and if they had played the results might have been different.
There are plans to change things for the Euro2012 games whereby only a red (or 2 )in the semi's will mean you miss the Final.
This would be good, but I reiterate it woould be a bad thing to try and give retrospective immunity to players. Ivanovic for instance was guilty of Ungentlemanly Conduct, he was trying to dig up the penalty spot so that it would be lumpy and affect the penalty kick. That is another form of cheating. This should in no way be rewarded by letting him off.

I guess so Genius. Not really for changing the rule now. It isnt fair but for next year maybe .

That's not true, he was simply digging a hole to bury that sneaky cheating diving Fabregas in, it was just an unfortunate coincidence he chose the penalty spot to start digging.

As Bayern are also missing 3 players, then it seems fairly equal.
Should be a good game, I would like a British club to win the CL but not if Spurs finish 4th!!

That was also the basis for debating letting all 6 play in the final, but anyway we have been through all this and I agree with your point about retrospectivity, which is probably not even a word, but I can`t be bothered to check..

Ive never liked Fabregas as a player to be honest. He's a nasty individual when things dont go his way.

Absolutely, he always sticks his nose in to cause trouble.
Remember when he was a spectator but came on the pitch at Arsenal after the game agst Stoke in his hoody.

Yeh he was accused of spitting at the Hull Assistant manager. Wouldnt put it past him. He's got previous when it comes to spitting at people.
