Hodgson...Should we be worried?

NOT about england I couldnt really care less about the national team, im not from london and i dont support one of the top 6 but that is for a different day!

Roy Hodgson getting the England job will have effects on not just England but the club WBA poach there new manager from, I'm not the only one thinking our chris hughton will be one of the main men in the frame for Jeremy Pearce!

Its well known Pearce rates CH, he's interviewed him before but Roy became available and he went for experience as west brom headed for relegation but it might not be the same this time round.

Hughton had a great season for us, will be free (contract up at the end of the season), has worked with a budget before at newcastle and now blues, so is ideal for greedy pearce!

Tatts has mentioned he thinks Hughton will be baggies number 1 target IF hodgson decides to head for the circus known as England manager and unfortunately I agree!

Will CH leave is the question? Premier league job, allowed to spent actual money and make transfers, a decent chairmen who would stick by him should he not make the best start, wont be too much hatred from blues fans (rivarly not as bad as villa/wolves) and obviously more ££££.

I would love to think hughton would turn down the job and stay at blues, but alot depends on this month, will we go up? Will he be offered a new deal? Can he put up with another season of off field problems?

Should we be worried???
Too right we should just about every Baggies fan I have spoken to today and from what I am seeing on forums he seems to be number ONE choice, no ifs or buts number ONE.
Sky bet have him second fav just behind Alan Curbishley.
Baggies are a well run club and dont seem to have the deluded fans that follow the vile or the custard bowl club (weem a big club we yam).
I think he could be tempted even if we go up. would i blame him........no not really when you think of the disgraceful way our club is being run at present.. With money he could easy get them established in the top half of the table. beam me up KRO

You beat me to it,I was going to post something similar.I'm afraid that some of the bookies have Chris Hughton down as favourite for the Baggies job, once Woy leaves for the poison chalice,no not Wolves but England!
He was nailed on favourite to join them after Di Matteo was sacked, before Woy stepped in,so let's just hope he still holds a massive grudge from being turned down by them!
I don't think anyone could blame him for going to a mid-table,stable Premier League club with all our ownership shenanigans going on.At least it's not vile or the Dingles, that's my only comfort!

Unfortunately, yes we should be worried.
The only possible way CH would stay is if we get promo, but even then that will come with some proviso on his part.
If the board won't/don't deliver then he will be free to make his own decision.
Wigan may also be out on the look for someone if RM goes too and we have to consider [joking aside about McJudas staying there] the Vile could well stick their oar in relegated or not.
Hopefully they would go full steam for RM but CH has the potential to be a massive draw having demonstrated his prowess with limited or even no budget.
Much better than you-know-who and this may stand out on Lerner's radar also.
Let's just enjoy the fairytale for the time being and worry about waking up, later.

Alright Lads

First of all, some nice comments about WBA by you guys so cheers for that Got nothing bad to say about Blues. Got family that are noses and work round the corner from St Andrews. Always been good banter between our clubs and it doesn't spill over into anything more

So i do feel quite bad that I'm desperate for us to take your manager. He is the outstanding choice in my opinion. Obviousy the job he did at Newcastle was top notch but what he's done for you is nothing short of a minor miracle.

I feel he also fit's into the 'Albion way' of doing things. He'd be happy to work under our highly rated technical director Dan Ashworth, he'd work well with our way of doing transfer's, he's settled in the area and according to the Brum mail's Baggie reporter, when he was interviewed last year (before RH got the job) the chairman was apparently very impressed and the they concluded the interview on very good terms.

I think your transfer embargo may work in our favour aswell. Surprisingly now, after finishing 11th last year and potentially top half this season, we are now an attractive club to come to.

Best of luck with the play off's lads, you've had a top season and whatever happens we'll both be fine

p.s If Hughton did come, how would that affect the Foster situation in your opinion? I have to say he is the best keeper i have seen im my 22 years of supporting Albion.

p.s 2 - There was a certain wo1ve5 poster from 12 yards who was impersonating me on here and was wumming so if he ventured over here, it was a dingle BlueinBarca knows who ****Cough*Cough Pundit.

I was hoping he might have been approached by Leeds instead of the D head we have atm.

Have to say congrats on your season, delighted for CH always comes across as a class act

Cheers jhbaggie, although I hate to admit it, I think your probably right. The only good thing that I can say is that at least he won't be going to villa or the dingles, at least baggies will look after him. There isn't a Blues fan I know that wouldn't blame him for leaving, Baggies can offer him everything a manager would want, Premier league footy, board who would back him, money available. What he could offer Baggies is honesty, commitment, a calm approach, attractive football etc etc.

The football I've seen at Blues this season is the best I have seen while supporting them, it's not down to luck that we have finished 4th using just 25 players (nearly all of them being loans and freebies), while playing over 60 games... This is down to the incredible guidance of Hughton and his back room team.

Look at me advertising our manager to you Baggies but to cut it short, I wouldn't mind or blame him or Baggies if you snap him up

When we went on that run after gettin knocked out of Europe the board should of offered him a new 2-3 year deal ad showed out intent and trust in him, but all we get from our board is silence then a couple of paragraphs that leave more questions than answers!
