ANNOYED

Have we really NOT got a new manager !!! , I understand Ben darent giveGary Rowett a contract just in case we lose the first ten matches ,sorry twenty . Why oh why has he gone for half the cancer that we had before !! MONEY is it MONEY or am i being hard on Mr Robinson and Gary as he did keep us up . I would quite happily have had him training the squad and warming them up prior to kick off , a bit like Andy Garner at Derby but really not happy with him being the front man ,your comments guys please im crying in my beer here .

Well judging by current form we can all look forward in a couple of seasons to the fixture list at the start of the season to see when the big local derby is with our arch rivals Gresley !
PS well done Mr Gary Norton and Gresley for two outstanding seasons !

I think a statement from the club about its ambition would help the fans have some hope of things getting better. I am not a big fan of Rowett as he was part of the PP mob , who messed this club up. Ok whats done is done and he is our new manager, but he has a lot of work to do with the team and turning the fans on his side. Has Rowett got big enough feet to fill the boots?
I hope for the club he makes us all eat humble pie.

Over to you Rowett.

Ok, ok, ok time for a balanced view folks. Let me start by saying that when I read the headline at work on BBC Football the exact words I used rhymed with 'Clucking bell'. Let's leave my instant reaction to one side.

If you were given a managerial role for 5 weeks with a complete load of halfwits who were low on confidence, passion, desire and commitment you would struggle wouldn't you. Anyone would.

Lucky as they were, those players got us to 4th at one stage.

I think we need to see what he does in the transfer window and let August be a clean slate. Forget his association with the Pesch era and at times make allowances for the fact that he will inherit some players who are on contracts which he wishes they didn't have (though he doesn't have to play them).

We should judge him by who he signs, who he manages to offload and most importantly what happens between now and Christmas on the pitch.

My last 3 games were quite abysmal and he was the Manager (Bristol Rovers 1-7, Aldershot 0-4 and Barnet 1-2). If we play anything like that in August I would get someone new in for September. Those results and
performances are gone but not forgotten.

If we rate his dealings so far he is doing well, Cheerio Gurrieri, Ada and Blanchett. An extended contract for Dyer who is a great player. 4-0 to Rowett there. His only howler so far with his dealings was Jimmy. So, he is 4-1 up.

I'm going to be there in August, home and away, cheering them on. I did not want this appointment and I was incredibly angry after the Barnet game. I have calmed down and I am going to see what he does this summer now that he is in charge and judge him on his players, his team and his results.

Despite the articles i have written i do hope Gary Rowett makes me eat humble pie and is able to build a team for the supporters to be proud of and want to watch.
He has a big job on his hands to dis-associate himself from the PP stigma.

Maybe Chairman Ben should take a long look at himself after this appointment.
Remember he was the one who stated."i've turned my phone off to concentrate on my buisness" when it kept ringing with applicants after he sacked Pesch.
After a quote like that and now the appointment of Rowett i seriously wonder if its time for Ben to move on.
maybe we need someone with a little more ambition.
Yes harsh i know after what he's done but we don't want another season like the last 2 and its surely on the cards now

I think if this appointment fails he may have to have a long look at himself.
We could not criticise prior to Pesch but Ben is not God as some supporters think he is fallable like the rest of us because he is a human being.

I have had 24hrs to reflect since my first article and having listened to Gary talking on radio derby this morning i felt a bit guilty over my comments made, as he is obviously made up by his apointment and what he can do to improve the squad. Ben i suspect has gone for someone who although part of the original partnership he has faith in to turn around albions fortunes .We all have to now give the guy our support and hope he brings in some new faces to lift the gloom . Personally out or the remaining players whose contracts have come to an end i would keep only Stanton . This in effect would bring to a close the old conference defence who im afraid are just not good enough . I notice already clubs are releasing players , Howells at Crawley who i believe is Burton born and bred would be my first capture as one of my many replacements .

Clark Carlisle centre -half who was on loan at Northampton from Burnley and who totally ran the show at the pirelli is also out of contract . Northampton are desperate to get their man ,make a cheeky offer Gary !!
