ATP Matches Of The Day: Madrid 2012, Sem. F

The tournament with all the cribbing about the surface, here we reach to see the remain 4 players in Madrid Masters 2012. Will it be exciting? I'm very much positive about that.

1. [10] Juan Martin Del Potro (ARG)
v
[6] Tomas Berdych (CZE)

A match of the big hitters that promises great tennis. Delpo played decent to see of Dolgo, but it was more of Dolgo letting it slip. Delpo's play can't be judged much other than saying he played solid and smart given the circumstances when the opponent is making too many errors and is distributing freebies (read points). But his form has been impressive since Estoril and he has been beating his opponents convincingly.

Berdy is also in very good form. He played well in MC and here is playing well too. His serves are going strong, that brilliant forehand is sharp and the backhand looks solid.

Prediction:This match will be decided on the form of the day. Hard to pick either of them for me. Delpo looks good, but he hasn't actually been facing any of the opponents who you would generally think can beat him.

My pick: I'm going with Berdych to take it in 3 sets. There won't be many breaks in this match.

2. [7] Janko Tipsarevic (SRB)
v
[3] Roger Federer (SUI)

Tipsy looked brilliant yesterday. He is never shy of taking on anyone, and if he gets going he is difficult to beat. But at the same time, he can be too shanky and commit too many errors. Fed's serve is looking brilliant, His forehand is as good as it was, but I've not seen many winners of the backhand. Plus his returning need to be better ( though credit to his opponents who actually served very well ). I saw Fed-Ferrer yesterday and I see how far ahead is Fed's shot-making compared to some other top players. He really rushes his opponents better than anyone on tour ( The old davy and Nalby come next).

My pick: I pick Fed in 2 sets. Tipsy will hit some big winners, but Fed is solid enough to handle those.

Yes its farcical.
One group of tennis fans can't just make a rule that the rest have to follow.
I mean a group of Djokovic fans could make a decision that Djokovic fans are 'fans of tennis', and Federer fans are not fans of tennis.
We don't have to follow that blindly.

I think you are finding it very difficult to understand what I said. Its not about making a decisions. I said I gave reasons for it. Do you understand what is the mean of reasons?

If someone wants to say Fed fans are not fans of tennis, go ahead, lets see what reasons they have to back this up. I'll challenge those if I can.

Is that so?? Really amri?? You think you are smart not to follow anything blindly and you use your reasoning? . Did you forget about this when any tripe comes out of Nadal camp and you blindly believe it?

I don't blindly believe anything, Nadal's camp are just generally honest people.
Do you have a problem with that
