Acording to the advertiser we are "set to sign" Hugo Bargas.
2007–2008 All Boys 20 (4)
2008–present De Graafschap 38 (16)
2009 → FC Zwolle (loan) 16 (4)
De Graafschap are in the top Dutch League and a goal ratio of 1:2 is amazing. He's left footed and quite quick and he is the son of Argentina international footballer Ángel Bargas.

Nice little youtube video showing hes a natural finisher (I know a good youtube video doesn't make a good player) .
Well Bargas is Argentian, and we also were told about a Brazilian and after all of this will still don't really know how good De Vita is. Think our worries about strikers should be sorted.
On thing I never like is when the advertiser say someone is Set to sign. I still remember the Theo Robinson situation. So just waiting for confirmation
Hugo Bargas

Have now seen video clips of Bargas, looks good doesn't he. If he has really made the effort to get to the training camp to meet up with Paolo etc it does suggest he is keen. Think we have to take some sort of a risks in the players we are signing but as mentioned before Im glad we have Di Canio making these decisions and im confident he knows exactly who and what he wants.

Please don't think me too pessimistic, I am a miserable old git! As you will realise as we go on this season.
But, we all hope that these new strikers will do the business. In August, maybe. But, in January up north on a Tuesday night?
Why did we send Benyon away?

Red,
After reading your posts last year I wouldn't put you down as a miserable old git - maybe a RIGHT Miserable Old Git.
You think you might get along to your fairly local match this year - Burton.
I'll be there have outlaws a stones throw away from the ground - they know they keep throwing stones at it being supporters of a different local side.
Anyway al speculation about Bargas gone. After making all the effort to get there, then saying wants more time PdC has pulled the rug.
Probably has a few offers to look at I would think, and PcD not wanting to take someone who is hedging their bets - you want to play for the club or you don't end of story - goodnight.

Advertiser saying yesterday Bargas had arrived, obviously not ! Perhaps Paolo is calling his bluff by dropping his interest. Redgollum I also can't see how Benyon was allowed to go, just don't make sense to me.surely he was the only striker we had who has proved himself at this level. The club were obviously confident about replacing him but maybe that was before a couple of deals for strikers fell through. In Paolo we trust !

Just for me, I'd liked to have seen Benyon involved. Sign whoever to partner him.
As it is, we ain't got a clue about our strikers.
Trust in Paolo! Well, he is new to football management.
If he gets this wrong, then the likes of us will be the sufferers, & he will walk away from it with nothing lost.
If he gets it right, we have some hope, but he will be off to pastures new. But we have to start again from somewhere.

Gollum, I did mean to put a question Mark after in Paolo we trust !? I'm with you on thinking whatever happens Paolo is not going to be around for ever. Think we have just as much chance of promotion as any other team, but maybe I say that as an avid Town supporter ! To be honest I just want to enjoy going to matches again, if we manage to sign a couple of proven goal scorers and get a bit of luck hear and there we may just achieve that.
