Too Rich

Does anyone else fear, as I do, that we are now going down the same path as they have in Spain.

We now have 3 Clubs, City, United and Chelsea, who between them can more or less buy whomsoever they want,(read somewhere that RVP would be offered £250.000 a week to sign for City), and we will be left with the situation, as I'v said, where the Champions will be one of those three, and the rest of the side left in the Premiership fighting for 3rd (if lucky), or 4th.

No the new financial rules will not help, bet your bottom dollar someone will find a way round them, the owners are not rich by chance.

Thoughts?

Always been the same, how many clubs have won the premier league in its 20 year history, just 5......

and one of them has won 12

If it's only out of three clubs then why did one of them finish 6th?

UEFA created the elitism that exists in the major domestic leagues when they reformatted and re-branded the Champions League. Now (they claim) they're trying to fix it with FFP.

But, the FFP rules will only strengthen the European elite, because what we have achieved - that is, to rise to the top from mediocrity due to the heavy investment of a rich owner - will never happen again under FFP.

We need some rules in place that mean a maximum transfer fee, maximum wages and more even distribution of wages. And it has to be done right across the world.

Took the words right ouy of my mouth, was going to come up with why not something similar to the NFL where there is a cap on the amount you can pay, the amount you can spend, (yes know can't pick like they do), but Mancini has already said City will do a Bara and Real and spend their way to the Champions League or Cup, whatever, which means,I assume the Premier League as well. If no other club has a man with more money than he knows what to do with, not much hope for those with no sugar daddys, and they (Chelsea) finished 6th because they had a man in charge who was not up to the job, very good at Porto, where he should have stayed.
The debate could go on forever, however my poit at the start, was that if we are not careful, we will end up like they have in Spain, where only 2 or 3 teams are ever going to win the Championship of Spain, and that cannot be a good thing for English football.
Did mention somewhile ag, and got smacked down for some, that it is a shame City have no talent scouts of their own, and use others clubs as feeders.
