Stats Dont Lie.... and all that

Kenny Dalglish's second spell as manager saw him win just 42.9% of his games.

Dalglish took over the club in January 2011 when they were just five points from the bottom of the Premier League following Roy Hodgson's ill-fated spell in charge.

In his first full season as Liverpool manager Dalglish guided the club to a Carling Cup victory, which was their first trophy in six years. But the club's disappointing form in the league saw them finish eighth and this was well short of the owner's targets for the season.

Hodgson won just 35% of his Liverpool matches, before he was replaced by Dalglish. Hodgson's predecessor Rafa Benitez is Liverpool's most successful manager since Dalglish first left the club in 1991.

Benitez won 55.3% of his 228 matches while manager from 2004 to 2010, including the club's famous Champions League win in 2005. Many fans are calling for Benitez to come back, but will the club again look to a former manager or will they try someone completely new?

Gerard Houllier also managed the club for 228 games between 1998 and 2004, winning 49.1%, while Roy Evans won 47.3% of the 184 games he led Liverpool for.

Under Dalglish Liverpool endured their worst season at Anfield in recent memory, winning just six games and drawing and incredible nine matches. The failure to beat the likes of Wigan, Swansea, Norwich and Blackburn at Anfield proved too much for the club's board. Of the bottom six teams in the Premier League only Wolves failed to take any points off Liverpool this season.

In the league Dalglish guided Liverpool to just 14 wins from their 38 matches - a win percentage of just 37%. This puts Dalglish 11th in the win percentage league for the season; Roberto Mancini and Sir Alex Ferguson top that table with 74% wins.

Liverpool hit the woodwork more times than any other team this season and were the only club to convert fewer than 10% of their shots into goals. The club also missed seven out of 11 penalties and it is this form that has ultimately cost Dalglish his job.

The sad thing is that if our players put the ball in the back of the net five more times, when they should have, then Kenny would still be here.

You can't blame Kenny for eight missed penaltys!

Yes, we know.....inches rather than yards and inaccuracy rather than accuracy cost him as well as his signings.

Kenny is the same as any other manager, they live and die by their signings.

Remember Houllier? He done well then bought, Diao, Diuof ect.....lost his job.

Rafa bought Torres, Masch etc and they were a hit, then he bought Babel, Sotos, Keane,Dossena, Degen etc...and lost his job.

Kenny, did well then bought Hendo, Downing, Adam and Carroll....and lost his job.

Shame...we cant seem to build a team to stay together.

Somethings are just not meant to be, if he had stayed we could have hit the woodwork loads again next season. Sometimes when your luck is out it never seems to change for the better.

A new start a new slate, new luck hopefully.
