Sammy McIlroy had the worst record as a manager but Nigel is catching quickly., I feel he's now close to that. Steve Staunton had the same type close to his international career as manager.
I feel Nigel never cut it as a big time manager. He's just not ruthless or a chance taker.
Who will replace him?
Will have to be someone trying to get back into football?
Sanchez? Dowie? Walter Smith?
Who you got?
How long more for Nigel?

Staunton is available and would be an upgrade for Northern Ireland.

My favourite Staunton moment was when he became manager of Darlington.
They were bottom of Div 2 in England at the time. At his first press conference he said "well he can't go any lower than where we are at the moment"!!!
it seems he wasn't aware of the fact that teams that finish bottom of League 2 get relegated to the Conference

ROBBIE:
"Unless the IFA are prepared to offer good money, NI will always have second rate managers." >>>>>>>>>> Im not really well up on managers' salaries, but given that we are among the minnows of the World, surely the half mil plus perks that NW is currently getting is reasonable. I mean, how much are the managers of other modest teams getting?
OK, the Republic pushed the boat out to get Trapp, but is he worth it! The jury is still out on Trapp and if they qualify he will no doubt become the next pin up. Personally, Im not convinced about Trapp. We are talking about a country who relatively recently won the Euro Juniors twice, in sucessive years! Moreover, recent experience suggests that they have some outstanding players in the making. You would expect them to be doing quite well!
Im not sure Trapp has had a lot to do with any success. In fact, he has seemed to be a hindrance at times with his bizarre reluctance to include certain players. I think the players could be carrying him! The FAI may be getting ripped off, Italian style while we are suffering from a bit of Ballymena Bluffing!
