England's future

With the Euro's coming up it got me thinking...

Although England are unlikely to win the tournament, unless they went down the same route as Chelsea recently have for the Champions league and ride their luck for the most part.

What could they amount to in say, five years time ?

With almost all of the current crop fased out by then.

I came up with this:

------------------Hart----------------

Walker--Richards--Smalling--Gibbs

----Cleverley--Jones--Wilshere----

Chamberlin------------------Sterling

---------------Sturridge------------

Honerable mentions for Kelly and Wellbeck.

I will be honest as a Welshman, England could well have a very good side in the near future.

So to my question, will England amount to anything in the near future then or... will the Spanish dominance continue considering they won the Euro u 21's ?

Steven Caulker (on loan at Swansea this season) is a future England captain. U21, centre back, top qualty.

Welbeck should in the Starting 11 for Sterling, who will not be ready for another 3-4 years.

In 5 years time, I predict Rooney will be our captain.

Chelsea didn't ride their luck. They deserved to win. They tactically outplayed Barca and then played on the counter at Bayern, both worked.

I'd expect to see a front 3 of Walcott, Welbeck and Ox. Can never predict these things though. More than likely Rooney will still be a key player for England.

Expect Spain and Germany to dominate. They have so much young talent:

Gotze, Kroos, Ozil, Muller, Reus, Draxler, Shurrle, Benders et al., for Germany.

Silva, Mata, Fabregas, Thiago, Busquets, Tello, Pedro, Cuenca, Navas, Martinez, Munain, Herrera, Isco, Adrian will all be around in 5 years time.

We'll still be so far behind in 5 years time.

Add to that De Marcos, De Gea, Bojan and Susaeta...

The rest of the world is doomed.

Them and Germany don't look like fading away anytime soon. The rest of the world can only hope they Brazil start producing talent like they used to - or Neymar, Moura and Ganso fulfill their potential - or Argentina get some decent cb's and cm's which will allow Messi to show his true worth.
