Joel Ward

Assuming that we do miss out on him as widely speculated on here and elsewhere (although nothing definite as yet) - would it be a sensible idea to evaluate how good this guy really is whether potentially or not ?

I raise this merely because quite a number on here would have you believe that it is the end of the world for LUFC as we know it if he doesn't sign. Indeed, is he really that good of a player ?

I just don't know because I am not a pompey fan. Yes, he has scored previously against LEEDS but, as far as I am aware no PL side has made an approach although, he is a good age. He's been part of a relegated side albeit, hamstrung by a 10 point penalty reduction (but not 15) that has struggled this year despite having a top class starting 11.

I confess, I have been caught up in the emotion of will we or won't we win the race for his services although,. i don't really know how good the guy is and certainly, is he that good that we should be writing our chances off already ???

Granted, if we can't 'afford' him as speculated (which we don't know for sure) then that is a worry although, there must be surely more to this than meets the eye. ?

Hopefully, there is some credence in the latest murmurings of alleged takeover talks because if it is positive then that is what our club needs and deserves.

A United front and a United club in white running in tandem with a United group of fans to end the torment and suffering.

Benny

5 weeks ago most Leeds won't of know he was, never mind how good he was.

A ten a penny footballer and not great loss

But that not what worries me, it's the fact we wanted him but couldn't get him

Yep agreed, he is a good good young player who is versatile, however his potential loss to us is not as big as the masses seem to think! We will be fine, if the rumours are true, then the money side if things makes sense!

It's not really Ward himself that makes it so painful.

It's the fact that Ward wants to come to Leeds, we've already signed his best mate, we're negotiating with a club in administration, putting us in the driver's seat,

And we're still struggling to sort out a deal because Bates is scared of letting the moths out of his wallet.
