He was told coming to Mclaren Lewis will wipe the floor with him, what kept him close was only Twitmarsh's shenanigans and his usual gambles with tyres in wet conditions. other teams have been working on their strategies and improved their performance now Button has lost that gambler's insitict, now he and his fans realize that he is not champion material even Kovalainen is better than this.
Well done Lewis, drove that car like a true champion
I still maintain that Mclaren will never ever win any title under Twitmarsh, they lack passion, keep on supporting the slower driver, are not serious about racing when other teams went to mugello and focused on improving their performance and getting a bettter understanding of tyres they were busy whinging about how unneccessary this exercise was, leaving their star driver out of testing. They are clumsy on the track, jack man seems to have a hangover when servicing Hamilton's car, don't know how to change tyres properly, even after changing them they forget to remove them out of the way, goodness they don't even know how to fuel their car properly!
As I said before other teams will catch up and all those points Mclaren lost early in the season they will be made to rue them.
Where on this beautiful planet of ours is Ron Dennis?
Button must just retire!

But people who ''drive like champions'' do not finish third though, do they?

Are you going to retire?

As soon as Hamilton retires thats it for me and this sport! It has done nothing to retain my interest, we have fluke champions of Button' and Vettel's ilk, scandalous FIA with its corrupt circus master suffering from napoleon syndrome, equally corrupt team principals! Most champions today are all about exploiting some loophole in the regulations, cars are slower, engines smaller, tyres pathetic, fans getting more and more naive can be told any fairy tale by any team principal!
I watched formula 1 thinking this was the pinnacle of motorsport, a display of state of the art technology, with man and machine combining to create this spectacle called F1, but it has left a bad taste in my mouth, the corruption, bias and prejudice is just mind boggling and all this is happening in the age of High definition TV!

I have some sympathy with what tsh is saying. I always used to think F1 was the 2nd most corrupt sport on the planet after horse racing but I now think it takes top spot.

So much for the fallacy these Pirellis will suit JB more than LH...

I must say, JB is being destroyed by Hamilton so far this season. He's struggling to get to grips with the upgrades they've made to the car. This is why I rate Alonso and Hamilton more than anyone else. Hamilton's made his car work, same with Alonso, their team mates can't.
Whitmarsh and the BBC in particular need to rethink their Button lovefest. He's a decent driver but is no match for his team mate. His team mate had to have his worst season in F1 for JB to beat him.
Webber is also outperforming Vettel in quali, if only he could transfer it to the races consistently.
F1's an intersting sport, Webber just missed out on being a world champion due to a bungled pit stop and we wouldn't have heard this rubbish about our pathetic double world champion who struggles without his diffuser.
What a difference a diffuser makes

What a difference Team favouritism makes also.
Webber gets pole and no reaction from Red Bull. Imagine if Vettel had got pole. There would be hoops of joy.
I don't begrudge Alonso his favouritism but Red Bull have never liked Webber and they never wanted him in the team. Webber was managed by Flavio and he forced Red Bull to hire him in return for the Renault engine.

Alonso's thoughts on Hamilton. More valuable than the twonks who post nonsense here.

So true, remember Silverstone in 2010? Tells you all you need to know about RedBul. Last year they stopped Webber from pushing the finger as well. His car always had KERS issues or some phantom problem.
People hype Vettel so much it beggars belief. He had a car that was over a second faster than anyone else, won the title due to Alonso and Webber being unlucky with pitstops and won all the races last year running away from everyone.
You have to wonder what is wrong with people who think he's all that.
They'll soon scream, he won in a Torro Rosso, yes he did in changeable conditions, why didn't he win another race in a Torro Rosso then?
Maldonado just won a dry race as well, does that make him an F1 God?
Give me a break
