I've been pleasantly surprised by Gary's professionalism and attitude in his first few weeks in management.
He seems extremely determined to get the squad shaped with players he wants rather than fodder being thrust upon him by unscrupulous agents.
With the potential of an additional 8-9 heads coming in over the next few weeks it’s rather exciting times to be a brewers supporter in light of the low key end of seasons activity we have been generally used to.
Hold on to your hats chaps as we board the roller coaster!!!
It feels like Christmas Eve...

Yes I have to agree with you ,so far he has impressed me without a ball being kicked , i just read Richards of Port Vale was sad to be leaving and my heart went up a beat ,surely not ! but he has gone to Chesterfield but maybe strikers are not top of our priority anyway . I really hope Legzins comes back on a year long loan deal , and we can get some wonder kid defender from Tranmere who our second in command recommends . Our chief scout tells us about a couple of experienced league one players who have been released the right side of thirty and we will be on our way towards a squad we can be proud of again . Keep up the faith

We need a spine from keeper, central defence, central midfield. we probably already have 3 forwards but i'd like to see another quality striker.
Rowett has indeed started well with most of those he has been able to get rid of(apart from Phillips, but that must be a miserly deal for Phillips to be dragging his feet) and he has made some wise appointments to his staff. It will be interesting to see who he brings in playerwise.
Looking at he clubs in league 2 next season i would say we will have to improve substantially to finish in a similar position due to the strength of the competition.

Newbie here folks, been trying to get registered on this site for ages, now looks like I have made it. Y'all may know my user name from CTMD. Yes, tis me. I, too, like what GR has done to date. Seems very "thoughful" in that he took no time to get rid of some of the deadwood. Unfortunately, IMHO, he is stuck with one or two that were on a 2-year deal that he could not just release. Anyway, I am a happy bunny to be here and UP THE BREWERS ! !

That's one through the door then!
Burton Albion have signed midfielder Robbie Weir on a two-year contract from next season.
Weir, 23, who was released by Tranmere at the end of last season, becomes manager Gary Rowett's first permanent signing since he was handed the job on a permanent basis earlier this month.

Must admit im impressed with Gary at the moment seems to be doing the right things hope he proves me
wrong because i did not think he should get the job.
Looks like i will be having to make the journey from Stoke again to come and give the Brewers my support next season.

I've heard on the grapevine we are also talking to another midfield player released by Tranmere, Joss Ladabie, remember when he was on loan at Shrewsbury and scored against us on our football league debut ! Bags of ability but bit of an attitude problem,i presume Kevin Summerfield knows how to handle him as why else would we be talking to him !
Weir is a good signing and easily better than anyone we have on the books in that depatment.

I would like to welcome texasburtonfan to the fourm. The more opinions the better.
Iam hoping on more signings like today. We need a strong midfield to make more chances for our strikers.
Iam looking forward to the pre-seasons big games and can not wait for the new season to start. Iam going cold turkey with the lack of football in my life.
Come on you Brewers.

Welcome texasburtonfan, glad we have you on board to provide imput and discussion amongst what i would say is the strongest forum for a league two side . Im very pleased with our first capture he would appear to have all the attributes we need and maybe could have remained at league one level . I wonder if we may have a shock and Phillips and Webster decide their deals arent good enough , we shall see but what a breath of fresh air already !
