Success against France

I honestly think that if we try to go toe to toe with France this year, we will lose. They have a new generation of players that have grown up with each other and they looked formidable against Serbia. They reached a technical level that I don't think we are capable of...

One weakness that I would say that I can see is their back line, they are good players but I don't think that they would relish the physical battle and I would love to see us play Welbeck and Carrol up front and play at a very high tempo to unsettle them. I saw how effective this was when Norwich played Spurs and Arsenal away and it will be something that the French will not be prepared for.

I would prefer Milner to Wallcott because I think that we would be too open otherwise. I must say that seeing England play in the past this would be a massive risk because getting them to play at such a high tempo looks impossible... I just think that this is the only way that we can beat them. Also a lot depends on the referee too, if he is one that will let the game flow or a typical UEFA europa ref that thinks that he is the centre of attention.
