"Its massive for cricket-why do u think English counties are trying to mimic it?"

I think you`ll find that T20 was by invented by Stuart Robertson of the English and Welsh cricket board, with the first games being played by counties

How can we mimic something we started

MyChest - keeping on saying that IPL/T20 is tosh won't make it go away, and is definitely not the opinion of most players/fans, and even boards are fast realising that T20 is becoming more and more important. Most (true) cricket fans prefer test matches over the lightning format. However, as in any industry, and sport is more and more becoming an entertainment industry, change is necessary to:

a) generate more excitement in the game
b) stop people switching off the longer format.

Sometimes, the T20 format can even get people into the longer format. The extremely young kids will have a choice of what games to play. Most will choose football. However, the shorter formats of criket will definitely ignite their interest in cricket, much more so that test format, and that can only be good for the game.

Tests, for me will always be the true version of the game, and you will probably never change your views on IPL/T20, which is completely fine

Furthermore, South Africa have just announced that they are ditching the famous Boxing Day Test for T20s. Personally, I think it will be a sad day for cricket if the Aussies decide to do this too at sometime in the future.

However, T20 is getting more and more popular globally and I think theres a point when you die hard Test fans will have to embrace it.

Viru there's a enormous difference between International T20 and the IPL. The IPL has taken T20 and put it into a circus atmosphere.

And we all know that circuses are for children
