Kelly over Rio and Richards was a disgrace. I will still support him though.

And for the record, I will be supporting every player in the squad, doesn't mean we can't point out ridiculous decisions.

Kelly got the call up because he didnt snub England like Richards did.

A player that can't even get into Liverpool side, in England squad for finals ?? I think you'll find it's more that just UTD fans that are irritated. It's a disgusting choice.

England need to look to the future. We all know Rio was dropped cos of the Anton and Terry case with Rio rightly siding with his brother. The policy has always been if someone is injured then look at standby and if there is no one there then look at the best U21s and Kelly is easily the best that was available in the U21s.

i wouldn't have took terry to start with. does anyone honestly think ferdinand would be able to play the 3 games in 8 days with the massive amounts of travelling the squad will be doing too?

richards didn't want to be on the standby list so was not considered. who else was there to pick? kelly is a very good player with the unfortunate problem of being at the same club as the current england #1 in position. despite that there have been a few times where johnson has had to shift to left back so kelly could play. he also started out at centreback and moved to rightback so there is the added flexibility. he is much more reliable than jones who has made a number of mistakes in games at man united yet kelly has never let liverpool down once.

carrick, another one who brings out the bias claims despite him also ruling himself out. again, i wouldn't have picked him anyway. he might look good playing for united as teams tend to drop off them and defend more, the moment you start putting carrick under pressure and closing him down his passing goes to sh@t. he wouldn't get anything like the time on the ball for england as he does at united.

for fairness, i will also say downing has been terrible all season and only played decent in cup games against lower league sides. he doesn't have the bottle and self belief to play at the very highest level and i expect him to be shown up again. henderson, although i rate him also hasn't done enough to be considered, mainly due to being played out of position on the right wing most of the season where he's generally gone missing for 80 minutes of the game. this call up is probably a year too early for him.

but of course, all the decisions are anti-manc bias honest.
