for Murray! Tougher than any of the other top four (imho).
R1: Nikolay Davydenko
R2: Ivo Karlovic
R3: Kevin Anderson
R4: Richard Gasquet/Cilic
Q/F: David Ferrer/Del potro
S/F: Rafael Nadal
Final: Novak Djokovic
Difficult early round matches against some big servers like Dr Ivo, Anderson and Cilic! Looks like Andy will have to hit the ground running. Maybe a good thing that people are giving him less chance than normal for SW19. Andy was 10-1 to go all the way before yesterdays draw, he is now 12-1.
Ive got a ticket for Thursday, fingers crossed i will be watching Andy
Good luck Andy.

Personally, I am more worried about Raonic. Del Potro is a player that Andy deals with very well and he matches up well to him.

Agree. Also, Delpo is not that great on grass. I actually do not think Andy's draw is that horrible. A lot of scary sounding early round opponents but - after you take their current form into account - how many of them have a real chance to potentially take him out if he plays anywhere near his best?
I think Raonic is the only real threat and even he I think is somewhat overhyped.

If you're going to be the best, you have to beat the best.
Murray is well capable of beating all of those possibilities until Nadal and Djokovic.
Whether he will or not is another matter, but beating Nadal in the semi would be quite something and set up the most eagerly anticipated final in Britain for years.

Of course he is more than capable but at this moment in time I am not sure he is in the kind of form and fitness to achieve that.

Yes but we can only talk of the here and now not what ifs.

Craig, if we can't talk about what ifs you might as well close the forum.

I'll take each match of his as it comes and hopefully he can get confidence building wins and get into shape to beat the likes of Raonic (if he himself gets that far). I would say that if Andy gets to the semis with this draw he'll have an injection of confidence going into a potential match against Nadal.

Craig, I had similar thoughts re a semi with Nadal.
Really hope Murray makes it that far at least.

I too think the same, on current form a definite no no for andy but as far as calibre goes, he can definitely win the Wimby. It will be great to have Andy Murray as Wimby champ.

Still feel a little nervous about this match. I know Davydenko does not like this surface and has only ever reached R4, but i steel feel this is a really tough opener!
