Hart... 7.Distribution was poor and made a fool of himself against Italy with the pens but otherwise looked steady and confident!
Johnson... 6. Didn't offer much in attack and his link-up play with Millner was none existent! Defended well!
Terry... 8. Solid throughout and gave his all imo. Vile man but i've got to pay respect where respects due - one of our only shining lights!
Lescott...7. As with Terry, a shining light.
Cole...6. As with Johnson, never forced the attack. I remember him overlapping Young just the once last-night for the scramble towards the end. Tidy at the back. Shame about the pen.
Young...4. Pre-tournament, he scored or contributed to 12 out of England's last 24 goals. Never looked like doing either for all 4 games!
Gerrard... 6. Against Sweden and Ukraine he played well. Passing was spot on. But last night he looked knackered after an hour.
Parker...4. I just don't get his inclusion tbh. Nuff said!
Millner...3. See above! No threat what so ever. Looked knackered after 5 minutes into the France game!
Rooney...5. Is it my wide-screen TV or does he look really fat? Off the pace, no confidence running in at goal and he just did seem up for it at times. Being out for two games should not be an excuse to be off form. He knew these games were coming up and he should have been in tip-top shape going into them.
Danny...5. Started the tournament brightly but withered as the games went on!
Carroll...6. Held the ball up very well, shame he had no one running onto the lay-offs. Took his goal well too.
Theo, 4. Had a good half a game!

Rock steady,
Why are you questioning the score that you gave Parker? I'm confused...

The bitterness is quite frankly bitter!!!!
The only players that we can honestly say had a decent/good tournament are: The entire back line, Gerrard, Welbeck, Carroll & Theo, the rest were average/poor/mediocre & that's the honest truth!
Imo Overall team average is 5/10
With Gerrard & the back line getting a 6.5/10
Welbeck, Carroll, Parker & Theo get 6/10 for actually having positive impacts.
The rest is 5 and below.
Ps-Rooney gets a 5 cos he was shocking, should be lower but he did score, but goal was irrelevant cos Sweden bt France & England would have topped group with a point but a goals a goal.

Both England and France would have scored 3 goals, conceded 3 goals, and of course, both teams drew 1-1 with eachother.
The question is, which team - England or France - would have qualified?
------
England - if everything is equal in the group it comes down to UEFA coefficients, which puts us ahead

Cheers. So Walcott's contribution against Sweden ultimately didn't really count for much.
Well, apart from ensuring that we didn't play against Spain. But then we went out to Italy anyway!!

So you think we would have had a better chance of beating Spain???
Like I said earlier the bitterness of opposing fans is beyond ridiculous, it's 1 of the reasons why we won't win feck all at international level for a long time.

You had me thinking for a sec then. It was supposed to be a (5) in response to your ratings on that diamond of a player - Parker.
Wish there was an edit button for posts. Could then spend the rest of week correcting sentence construction and and all of my grammar mistakes. Suppose i could get lessons from ripleyscat!

That's not quite what I was saying. No, scrub that, I wasn't saying that at all.
My point was rather - had we finished 2nd and ended up facing Spain in the quarter finals, then our fate wouldn't have been any worse than the result of the game last night. We lost to Italy. I would imagine that we would have lost to Spain also. The point - a defeat is a defeat is a defeat. Lose to Spain, and England come home as beaten quarter-finalists...
...Which is exactly the same as us losing to Italy last night.
Meaning, the fact that we finished top of our group, and thus avoided Spain as a result, ultimately didn't matter, considering we lost the quarter final against Italy anyway.

The "bitterness of opposition fans" has absolutely nothing to do with England's failures at International level. None whatsoever.
