Class reaction from number 1 seed Sharapova giving credit to her opponent:
Sharapova said: "She did many things better than I did and you have to hand it to her.
"She played very well. I could have done things differently but not on this particular day."
Well played Lisicki, who's not had a great year up until now, but this is third year that she's beaten FO Champion at Wimbledon!
How to handle defeat

Not such a shock this one..Lisicki did well last year. I have a feeling she may win the whole thing.
Docking points would kill the grunting stone dead, unfortunately noone at the WTA has the guts to bring it in..

Agreed earlsfield, if they wanted to get rid of it they could within a season.

NO way is Lisicki going to win Wimbledon. That would be a disaster. I reckon Azarenka's going to win it.

Liscki will win, She was a semifinalist last year if I am not mistaken.
Why would that be a disaster? Because she beat Shreikapova

She is too mechanical. No soul in her game. Not a tiniest bit.

I'll be supporting Serena btw.

I have never supported Serena. No class in her game just brute power. I preferred Henin. I will be going for Aza or Liscki.

I loved Henin as well.
Serena has an amazing will to win.
Actually I could not stand her in the past, but grew to love the way she goes about her fight on court, the sheer heart and :over my dead body! attitude, nothing short of impressive!

I think paszek could make the final, I'm rooting for her or Lisicki.....I always did like an underdog!

Whether Sharapova intends to put off her opponent or not, it certainly might do. Her grunts extend for just long enough that she is still sounding off as the opponents sets themself and begins their shot. Even if is entirely natural, it is unsporting and she should control it.
I saw her play live at the FO. Anyway, if it is so natural, why did she not grunt in the warm up?
