So AVB has decided to take the Spurs job!
I have seen too many joke articles about this with no other intention than to WUM the other teams fans.
Here though is an article where we can express an honest opinion on the guy and how we think he will fair at Tottenham.
I for one have slight concerns that he will turn them into a real Premier League force with the possibility of stealing Hulk from under our noses and his genuine nose for a good player.
However one stumbling block could be that Tottenham is not the most attractive prospect for world class players or potential world class players. IF they fail to obtain these players this window then i dont think they will have enough to get top 4 and in turn AVB could be shown the door.
IMO this transfer window is of upmost importance to Tottenham!
What do you guys think will happen to spurs and AVB this season?
Success story or a barrell of dissappointment?

There are only two ways with AVB - either he will turn Spurs into a force or it will all go t$ts up in a few months and they will be fighting a relegation battle.

I wouldn't dismiss the threat Spurs pose to the traditional top 4. We were lucky to win the Champions league and deny them their place in the competition. I obviously don't think Chelsea will be as poor again but to arrogantly dismiss spurs may prove our undoing (again)

They will become the new Everton at best and Moyes will excel Everton into the top 4 spot
Or become the new Wigan

I do think he'll succeed there, but only if he's given the time. I don't expect miracles from them, don't even expect any progression on Harry's final season instantly. But given that time he was promised with us, he’ll get them top 4 consolidation within the next five years. That’s a dressing room full of dreamers. similarly to Mourinho walking into our dressing room in 2004, he’ll already have won more medals than many of the first team squad. So that natural barrier where the players already feel superior to the manager won’t be a problem.
My fear for their sakes is they’ll expect too much too soon. Harry’s sacking was more brutal than some of Roman’s “disgraceful” decision over the last nine years – but then again, it’s less of a gamble for Spurs thanks to us.
As long as they keep their ambitions realistic, he’ll turn them into a consistent top 4 player. At worst, they’ll become another Arsenal post 05.

To arrogantly dismiss Spurs, who were on the periphery of the title race for a lot of the season unlike Arsenal and Chelsea is silly. I know they messed up at the end, but Man Utd's loss of a lead with a few games left was worse. Just because you are not in the CL it does not mean a club will do a Rangers. Most teams by definition are not in the CL.

Sheriff JW Pepper (U1007)
it is my slight concern.
this is because we know he is a decent manager and if the players play for him he will do very well. but the question is will they?
Or will Levy give him enough money to get the players that will play for him?

fair concerns both
to which no-one knows the answers

I'm a little anxious on what kind of players AVB in as he does have the reputation across Europe to attract very good players to Spurs. However, I do also feel that his methods aren't really suited to the PL. They are more suited to technical leagues like the Serie A, La Liga, Bundesliga etc.
