I wanted to write a RVP article too!

Happy 4th of July to any American Gooners out there! I guess RVP wanted to get in on the festivities with some fireworks of his own.

Is anyone that surprised that he is leaving? Is anyone surprised that Giroud and Podolski were bought early so that they wouldn't be replacing him but instead working with him? Let's move on with the new season. Yeah I hate losing our best players year after year and I think there is a hell of a lot of truth in what RVP is saying about not matching his ambitions. The unfortunate part is that only a handful of clubs in the world win trophies anymore. 20 years ago Red Star Belgrade won the European Cup/Champions League. Does anyone see them doing that now? Hell...Ajax won it 17 years ago and the best case scenario is they reach the last 16 or quarterfinals of next year's tourney. My point is that if you're not playing for one of 6 teams you're not going to have much of a chance to lift silverware. Let's sell him to Juve or PSG and be done with it. I hate being a selling club, but at the end of the day that's what we have become and I don't think that's going to change until we win some sort of silverware.

TV5 for captain or give the armband to Arteta and roll on Sunderland. COYG!

Atleast this might be over quickly.

Nasri and Cesc never had the decency to communicate with the fans.

Well last season the 6th place team won the CL. It can still happen

The "6th place team" also happened to be owned by a Russian Oligarch, contained the likes of Ashley Cole, Drogba, Terry, Lampard, Ramires, Cech etc, and finished 2nd the year before. Even though they finished 6th, Chelsea weren't your typical "6th place team". They gave up on AVB and once they did they flourished, and they probably would have finished higher in the league had they not been focusing solely on the Champions League and to a lesser degree the FA Cup. The 6th place team in France was Stade Rennes and the 6th place team in Holland was Twente. I don't see them winning it anytime soon.
