In short mate
fck knows
But to give it some sort of effort, its all to do with international clearance that has to be given by the member associations, and for players to leave Rangers and sign for a club in England, the club signing the player has to contact the FA and get ITC (international transfer clearance), who then contact the SFA for ITC, who then contact Rangers saying the ITC has been given if all is above board.
That has all broken down at the SFA, as they have refused to grant the ITC and referred the matter to FIFA for them to make the decision, with the reason being its unknown whether these guys are under contract with Newco Rangers or free agents....so the SFA cant really say its fine for these guys to move on as free agents when Green is adamant that these guys are under contract with his company.
FIFA have issued temporary clearance for the players until they come to a decision......very much doubt anything will come of it though, the clearance will be given, they will move on for nowt and that'll be that

FIFA haven't issued temporary clearance to anyone yet...it's EXPECTED they will, but they haven't yet.
Laff-bot had already made his debut for Sion, so they're going to end up being pulled over the coals again for that imo.

Chuck Green is the proverbial voice in the wilderness over this issue.
Payers union and sports lawyers argue its watertight.
Who to trust?

"Payers union and sports lawyers argue its watertight."
Aye, cause your union wont back up the employee! Of course they are backing up the players!
Other lawyers state that the players left it too late.

Isn't it mainly employment lawyers that have backed them up?
Nobody is arguing that under normal employment law they would have a case but football does not operate normal employment law.
Its another big mess but i don't see how you can fault green for seeking a fee for these guys.
On another point though if it all works out in the players favour and they are free agents don't they still have to pay a fee for Ness and McCabe due to their age?

I am, they left it too late to reject the transfer IMO.

That could be the case mitre as you know type is a minefield of best practice rather than actual law. The only cast iron part is actually that contracts are protected and transferred to the new company.
What your thoughts on Ness and McCabe though, it only occurred to me yesterday that even if they do get away with leaving as free agents due to their age the club is owed a fee.
