Some might have noticed that during Wimbledon fortnight I was mentioning Filip Peliwo as one to watch.
I first came across this prospect last year and met with his coaches in vancouver this January who raved about him.
At that time he was playing in the Aus Open juniors and made the final, he then made the final at the French Open juniors and then again at Wimbledon and this time he won it.
Players who win a junior slam don't necessarily make it to the same heights in the senior game, but to make 3 finals in a row and win too, I think this kid is a bit special and a validation that Canadian tennis has gotten it's act together with its LTAD programme and hiring coaches like Oded Jacob.
