OK so it's back to the drawing board for khan and his team. The loss to Garcia was a huge set back, here are some things i think he now has to do:
1)He has to have his next fight in England. Not too sure who he would face, but a certain Mr Brooks hasn't exactly hidden his feelings when it comes to khan.He also needs to win some of the fans over again.
2)Fight again in Vegas against another fighter in a similar position to him.i.e Victor Ortiz. Both coming off back to back losses, and have lost there respective titles, this would be a good match up,one which khan would have to win emphatically.I also feel he will meet peterson somewhere down the line, not only to avenge his loss, but to restore his stock.I think he will need a minimum of 2 fights before anyone gives him a title shot.
3)We all know khan has the skills and tools at his disposal, but what he is lacking in my eyes his ring know how/ring generalship. He doest seem to be able to control the fights and execute his game plan without straying. His over confidence in his own abilities leads him sometimes to throw the game plan out and just go for a straight brawl.Obviously a certain element is due to his fighting style which is to always come forward and attack.
4)This may be controversial but he may need to part ways with Mr Roach. In my opinion khan will always be 2nd on the priorities list, pacquiao is numero uno and always will be with roach.Khan may benefit from getting a coach/trainer that i 100% committed to him and to him only.
Khan at the moment is probably going to be at his lowest point, but a sign of a true champion is how they react to defeat.Great fighters in the past have faced defeat and come back.I know people have slated his chin, but you can't train your chin. You either can take a punch or you can't.I feel khans road back will be like walking along a tight rope,1 more mistake and its over.Another defeat and i fear for him.I think his mentality will have to change, his discipline and he's going to have to show something that we haven't seen before.Heart.
Khan's Next move??

I worry that Khan is going to use the change in trainer as an excuse.
I didnt beat Garcia because of my trainer...
Nope, he lost because he couldnt, or wouldnt follow a fightplan set out for him.
Coach can only do so much, and until Khan looks at himself and says "It was all my fault" he wont move on.
He will get a new trainer, win a few fights, think he is better than he is and get decked by a big hitter...again...
He is the problem, not his trainer

The issue was not with Roach but more due to the Peterson cancellation and the rush to schedule the Garcia fight when Roach was busy with another fighter. Before the Peterson fight Amir had a clear training and sparring plan with constant involvement from Roach.
This Garcia fight was too soon after the Julio Chavez Junior world title defense and for this everyone needs to accept the blame:
- Roach for taking too much on his plate in short amount of time
- Amir for knowing he would not get his trainer 100% dedication and still rushing to fight Garcia when he could have fought him in the autum (after Ramadam etc)
- Golden Boy/Khan Promotions for allowing this to happen
Having said all that it was good to see Amir on Ringside last night be brutely honest and admit he was hit by a good punch and that his defense is weak and needs improving. The Peterson defeat gave him too many excuses but Garcia gave him a stark reminder how 1 punch can change a fight.

A bit of humility would be a start.
I can´t stand the way that Khan always looks for excuses. It never seems to be his fault when he gets beat.
I don´t think this is the end for Khan but after 3 defeats already it shows that he´s not as good as many thought he was, including Khan himself.
Yes he looks the part and has the style but that can only take you so far. Just ask Naseem Hamed.

Superb, on this one I am with you, Khan does get to me sometimes. The Peterson fight was very close and for him to talk as though he won it by miles did him no favours. Excellent boxer, but he seems to want to get into an unnecessary slug fest.
