Hi guys! Does anyone think SAF and the Glazers are willing to spend big this summer due to the saving in wages we anticipate next year?
I read an article that Milan sold Ibra for 15m only but saved 40mil in wages (exact numbers will differ depending on the paper)
In our case I can see Berba, Giggs, Scholes and Fletcher coming off the wage bill and possibly Evra and Ferdinand within 2-3 years.
I doubt the Glazers will let SAF spend without selling/ trimming the wage bill. What do you guys think?

I will say we're willing to spend big money when we actually do it. Blunt, but we've been through this transfer merrygoround before.

Not a bad shout. If it is true that we have extra/enough funds to go for RVP and Lucas then perhaps the Glazer's have realised we seriously need to strengthen to get back on top. SAF said they know they need to put money into the team to keep us successful.
Let's be honest we had a pretty poor season performance wise (in a lot of games), we just somehow managed to get into a winning position with a few games left. And we all know about Europe of course.
Hopefully they've seen that we need to keep up with the others (Chelsea strengthening a lot, City may add one or two to an already strong squad) to stand a chance of winning trophies this coming season and beyond. Plus SAF won't be around for ever and they'll want us in the best shape possible for when he goes.
I still think we won't sign any big names or pay big money (the likes of RVP, Lucas, Modric etc.), we'll all probably be left disappointed and then go on to see the lads mount another strong title challenge
