For the second successive season the same five clubs have occupied the top five places in the PL.
Are these clubs set to dominate for the foreseeable future or can an outsider break the stranglehold?
Just look at the strengths of these clubs:
1. Man Utd: the powerhouse of English football. Dominant for so long at home and now starting to exert their power in Europe consistently. Have the blueprint for success.
2. Chelsea: the only rivals to Utd in recent times. A wealthy backer who will strengthen an already formidable squad.
3. Arsenal: always competitive. Sound financially, a top manager and a talented squad of players who can improve with a few additions and win trophies again.
4. Man City: limitless funds, fanatical support and a squad of top players who have tasted some success and will improve.
5. Spurs: erm.....a nice white shirt.
When you analyse the strengths of these clubs, it's hard to see a way back for once mighty Liverpool.

It does look that way when you could quite easily say the top clubs possibly underachieved.

United DID win the league in 08/09 you clown. And they finished 1 point behind Chelsea last season. There is no comparison to be made. While United have been in the top two for the past 6 seasons Liverpool have done it just once.
